Deimos 100 Posted March 26, 2019 Scorsese is a beast. He hasn't directed as many as some directors, though I didn't include all on this list. He has been active since at least 1973 directing movies. He finally won Best Director for The Departed after all the years director. He hasn't won Best Picture yet though... ISO Share this post Link to post
webhead 519 Posted March 26, 2019 Didn't need to even see what else what there. The Departed is one of my favorite movies of all time. Made me love Leonardo DiCaprio. ISO Share this post Link to post
webhead 519 Posted March 26, 2019 At that point, I'd only seen him in Titanic and Catch Me If You Can (oh and Romeo+Juliet...fuck me I almost forgot that ). Catch Me If You Can redeemed him somewhat but The Departed pushed him into the fucking stratosphere for me. ISO Share this post Link to post

My only issue with The Departed is that it's not his idea or concept. It's a remake of Infernal Affairs. I don't know if I can give the vote to The Departed based on that. Also...HE loves Dicaprio now. Need to go back and watch some of his earlier movies though like Taxi Cab. 1 ISO Share this post Link to post
Galeigh 308 Posted March 27, 2019 Going with Gangs of New York only because it was the first one to come to mind, but pretty much any of these could win and I would be ok with it. ISO Share this post Link to post
