What's GOOD About Your Life rn

Recommended Posts

Instead of having a day off during the week and working on Saturdays for 18 years, I'm not Monday to Friday, so that's awesome.

Honestly there isn't much that's actually bad in my life right now. My salary took a 20% cut as of last week - but if we budget carefully we'll still be able to cover all necessary expenses. Staying at home is getting to be rather boring - but my family and I have continued to stay healthy and (as far as we are aware) virus-free. Working from home some days can be very frustrating with the kids bugging me every ten minutes - but at least I still have my job. And so on.

Life's fine on the whole.

My life generally is pretty good actually.  We're both still employed (though we'll see what happens with Jovanna's shit next city budget), we got a shit load to put into savings between tax returns and stimulus bux, and we've been trying a lot of new recipes because we did that food delivery service and now we are starting the process of taking those recipe cards and just making the shit on our own.  Going pretty good.  Their recipe for tacos, something so simple, is actually pretty great.

Also honestly being forced to work from home is pure bliss.  I don't have to even pretend I'm going to work and I absolutely love being home with Jovanna and Luna and being able to see them whenever I want.  It's REALLY nice.

It's going to be really fucking sad for everyone when all these companies arbitrarily claw everyone back to work even though we all KNOW we can work from home now if they let us. :P

Worked my last shift yesterday. Was pretty chill. Spent three hours deleting emails and scrubbing my name from everything I've created for past few years, went to my empty ass office to hand back my laptop etc.

One of my boss's was there (we need 24/7 emergency coverage) and he had his new puppy with him, so got to finally meet the pupster, got the pleasure of literally dumping my equipment outside my office, and he had left me a bottle of rum and a nice card outside too.

This was at like lunchtime too  was I fuck doing a full shift my last day.

Got notification that my education money got approved, getting my final pay in three weeks and then I can make my proper 3 year budget but I think, if my rough calculation is correct, I'll actually have enough to finance myself for an extra six months after my education. If I can get a decent part time job I might actually look into doing a post graduate year.

Super happy today :)

Good for you bro. :unkeke:

What are you going to school for again?  It was something related to film or video editing or something like that?

Two year college course in "TV Production" (although really it's a catch-all course covering every aspect of the film/TV industry).

Then the way UK schools work I'll then go on to do a year at University where I'll specialise, at the moment my plan is to specialise in Film Editing however I've basically got two years to lock that down if that's what I want to do.

With the amount of money I've managed to save I'm going to look at things Year 2 and might actually study for a fourth year, see how things look. But right now the plan is 3 years of education and hopefully get work as a feature film editor or some form of editor at least.

My new glasses came in and it feels wonderful to see clearly again with glasses not held together with wishes and unicorn tears (and a little help from super glue)
