Definitely reminiscent of Zero Year. I'm interested. It looks kind of bad but if it's a story like that I'm cool with it.

Not sure any of those movies are really my speed but I've seen enough people talk about his acting that it's worth reconsidering. Mostly the groans of him being Batman are just knee jerks to an actor who is really only known for a series of bad movies and then a bunch of weird indie stuff that most people have never heard of.
-
Yeah I'm coming around. I've been seeing a lot of stuff about him actually being a good actor and just assumed he was shit because of Twilight. Not in love with that tbh but we'll see how it looks when it isn't shitty blurry out of focus crap like this tease is.

Someone posted the full text on Reddit:

Yeah pretty much. Will probs get that new Star Wars game this Christmas 2020 for instance and it'll probs be 50% off at least.
-
Feel bad for people in other countries because they really get dicked in general on game prices. So far I don't think any of these affect the US but definitely a bunch in the UK etc.

What the...I could have sworn I posted in this topic...I renamed it. FFS. Happy birthday Slix.

Shit I didn't even know that had started. Time to hop on that shit. I wonder if I can convince Jovanna to watch TNG with me first.
-
Did you actually...watch the clip? First thing that popped into my head. "It was the 05/05/05 party, it happens once every BILLION YEARS!"

I would seriously have bought this. It's an HD remake ffs and somehow they still managed to fuck it up. My favorite thing during the time was the topic in the Diablo subreddit. I still cry laughing when I see it. "Hey about the D2 remaster, nvm, we cool"

Let's talk about how Blizzard has completely shit the bed with Warcraft 3 Reforged: This made me LOL:

I share an account with my mom and aunt and I pay about 20. It's nice to just put shit on sometimes (play HGTV or Gameshow network or whatever) and it comes with HBO so I can use the app. If the price went up any more...I'd probably just be like "here guys it's your account now" and peace out.

Unlimited DVR is damn nice too. Okay so you don't want live TV then.
-
I tried that out a bit and liked it. Was trying to get my grandpa to switch and share with my uncle to save a boatload but he didn't like that he could just type channel numbers. You have no idea what you're barfing about. Youtube TV is a great service actually (if you want live TV).

https://mangadex.org/ Went looking around out of curiosity and found a recommendation for this place on Reddit. You can probs find more. There's always DC++ hubs and Usenet/Torrents I guess. Looks like there are still plenty of groups doing it but all the major sites I used to know are gone. It's also been a really long time.

Definitely not paying money to see it but I'll watch it eventually. I read the soilers about the opening and it's just fucking dumb honestly.
-
Saw a very vague trailer before and this one is a lot more. This looks fucking crazy.
-
Unnecessary is definitely the right description. I still enjoyed it but I just don't understand the point of it.
-
Listened though it once now. Will have another run through. First half is better than the last half for me.

Yeah there's a reason these movies were a fucking mess. Who plans an actual trilogy of movies (they actually planned making a fucking trilogy) but has no plan in place. Then they hire some guy in the middle that completely takes a left turn on the whole thing just for lulz and to be edgy or something then the original guy has to come change it back??? It's just inexcusable that Disney couldn't have planned this better. I'm not sure who is ultimately responsible (Kennedy I'd assume), but whoever let this happen is simply incompetent. Plain and simple. Movies each have their own charms but the whole thing completely fails fucking hard as a trilogy.
-
Different situation completely. The time and resources they have available right now and a well established canon to pick from there are no excuses for a trilogy this boring. They had great directors and anything and pretty well squandered all that potential. I don't think the movie was bad so much as I look back at everything together now and just kind of shrug. This is what they chose to do after all that time and money? It's so underwhelming and we could have gotten better. Also Abrams is my last pick as a director to FINISH something long running. Not his forte. Maybe they should have swapped him and Rian Johnson.

The original trilogy was actually...original. That's what made it special. This new one is derivative, adds almost nothing to the mythos, and the quality has been extremely uneven. Even as someone that is less critical of movies in general, I can see this trilogy as the boring uninspired (and clearly unplanned) mess that it is. There are some fun parts. I especially liked the fact that this movie they went to a Sith planet Exogol (though I am once again confused by why they needed to invent a new one instead of reaching into the EU). That was cool. It was something actually new. Overall though...just kinda meh. As I said before, they've pretty much ruined this time period now with boringness and they should just abandon it going forward for more interesting things. They could have done a lot of interesting stuff with Luke starting up the Jedi academy and that's pretty much all burned to the ground now and to be frank, I really don't give that much of a shit about the new characters. The whole resistance, one Jedi (maybe 2), and all that shit is tired. If there's one thing the prequels got right, it was that huge interesting world. The writing was god awful but the world building was awesome. I wish we could have both these things together in a Star Wars movie. I don't know why good world building AND good writing seem mutually exclusive (or in the case of this trilogy, neither good writing or world building exist ). I think this movie was decent. I actually want to watch it again...but there are serious issues all over the place and the biggest was the lazy uninspired use of Emperor Palpatine. To get more specific though I'd have to watch it again because I've forgotten a lot of the plot details now. It didn't help that Rian Johnson completely derailed a lot of JJ's plans with his edgy gotcha 2 hour car chase movie. If Abrams had been able to make the 2nd movie, I think the trilogy would probably have been better overall (though quite frankly, I think it would have still been boring) and I think the 3rd movie would not have been so overstuffed (and would have maybe had a little better writing tbh). The massive whiplash moving back and forth from the first second and third movies didn't do anyone any favors.
-
It was an overstuffed okay movie with some questionable decisions capping off a largely meaningless trilogy of nothing. I don't hate it, as I think it was still better than TLJ, but I think the entire trilogy is honestly just boring. You're probably still excited because the movie was a spectacle. When you look back at this trilogy, it's just kinda meh. Bringing the emperor back was stupid imo.
