What do you do? Technical Implementations at a large bank. Basically, people that want to accept payments through their own systems (or companies that make software to resell) come through my department and we help them with the documentation with how to use our system, setup test accounts for them, and check to make sure they're doing everything properly then certify them to start processing in production. Do you enjoy your job? Yes! Do you consider it a career or just something to pay the bills? Generally I consider it a career. I'm at a level now where I'm making really good movie and what I do is interested (and varied which I love), so it's definitely a career. I left my job in IT because the management was awful to come here because management is fucking awesome and lets us do whatever we want as long as our shit gets done. How did you get to this position? My boss in IT ended up leaving for this place after they brought in a whole new management structure (we merged into the bank) and IT ended up sucking. He told me about it and I ended up tracking down the manager that was hiring here, talked to her for like 45 minutes before that was even posted, and ended up eventually getting it. It helps that I've worked at my current company for like 12 years give or take at that point (about 2 or 3 years ago). What's next for you? Whatever looks good in general. Right now I'm going to be working on getting a promotion to the next paygrade so I can get a sweet raise. Then I dunno. I like it here so really, I have exactly what I want. The flexibility is a huge draw. If that ever starts getting cut back, I'll probably look for another position where they still have the flexibility I want. Now that I have a kid and stuff, it's really nice to just drive in half way through the day and work from home all the time. The only thing better would be an actual 100% work from home job. That's something I'd probably keep an eye out for.

Okay move is done. If you notice any weirdness, you know, say something. Edit: The search index is rebuilding btw so it may take several hours for search/unread things to work

I've always done pretty good at making these movies quick imo. Ralph was the one that did moves that took like a week or two.

Hot chocolate definitely. I hate coffee. I hate mocha and dark chocolate too. My mom sometimes mixes Starbucks hot chocolate into regular hot chocolate and it makes it taste like shit.

Or you could just wait to see if it's good instead of judging it based on nothing. I'm sorry but Alan Moore isn't some kind of god. Other people can write good stories with his characters as we have been doing with comic books for 80 YEARS NOW. This Watchmen elitism stuff is getting tiring. Don't mean to make it sound like I'm taking it out on you but I see it constantly around comic stuff and I'm sick to death of it. Show is either going to be good or it's not. What I don't give a flying fuck about is whether it is doing its own thing and not following the word of Alan Moore's wizard beard for approval. Dude has refused to ever expand on or do anything with the property in the first place so you kind of have to know anything new they do is necessarily going to be a departure. Also the original idea was a bunch of DC characters in the first place so it's not THAT sacred. As far as "not following the source material" they've run out of it. The movie was perfectly fine. If they want to do Watchmen, they're going to have to do original stories now. What else would you want? Another remake of the movie that's basically a shot for shot remake of the comic? Why? I'd love to see something new.

I don't know what the fuck they are trying to do here if not completely kill their reputation as a company. Holy shit has Fallout 76 been bad.

I'm actually taking steps to ensure the switch is super quick with little downtime!

I don't know why you would boo that lol. Also: Switching the nameservers to the new server with DNS pointing back at this one. Worst case scenario, edit your hosts file to point oldschoolforum.com to IP address 192.111.152.218 until I fix it if I need to fix it (I tested it though and it should work fine but I haven't done this before lol). When the time comes, I've got the dns TTLs set to 1 hour and I'll make the IP switch and everything should be g2g.

Agreed. I liked the movie but I don't think I'd watch it again....at least not for a while.

Chrom, Ike, and Lucina are all great alternatives to Marth for me. I haven't been feeling Marth the last couple games and Lucina is now my replacement for her. I've been maining Samus a fair amount this game as well as Lucina and Ike as always. I've definitely taken an interest in Chrom as well though.

I really enjoyed the last real expansion. I don't hate this one but I feel like I ran through most of what there is to do pretty quickly. Probably doesn't help that the "new content" for this expansion is them porting the moon from Destiny 1 into Destiny 2. It's not terrible or anything. Just feels like I'm running out of new things to do now. I'm still enjoying it but you know.
-
Yup. Beginning of the episode and everyone was being gangster as fuck with this playing and I practically got chills.
-
Still Destiny 2. Kind of...underwhelmed with the amount of content in this new expansion though tbh. Seems like I'm already just going through the motions weekly.

I often just get an urge to listen to this song because it's fucking awesome. Too bad most of his other stuff is forgettable. Feelsgoodman I basically just listen to random shit especially if I hear it in the background during some TV show or movie or something and go "oh yeah I like that!" and add it to my playlist.

We went here: https://bellagio.mgmresorts.com/en/restaurants/the-buffet.html I don't remember it exactly but I remember being impressed.
-
It's also almost universally terrible food. Only exception I've experienced thus far are Vegas buffets. Those are like...a category all their own and even then...you gotta know which ones are the "good" ones or you're still wasting your time on crap (or overpaying for shit you don't want like crab legs).
-
Don't do this. Take the money you'd pay for that and just get a normal meal. But if I was going to a good buffet...I'm just going to start out with what I'd look for first (my favorite things...also taking into account I can only eat so much): Steak (Filet) Pizza (All kinds) Chicken Alfredo French Fries Whatever looks good at the time (I'd generally get my favorites out of the way then start looking around to see what looks cool) Ice cream and cheesecake for dessert If we go further in, I'd have to write a much longer post of stuff I like.

That sounds awful. You can still play it on Steam you know.

The entire CONCEPT of this type of school is a failure from the very beginning, imo. I can't imagine sending my kid there or why you think that some place like that can fix your kid for you. It's sad. I feel bad for all those kids (even considering a bunch of them were probably assholes lol). No one deserves that.

I actually have a buddy that is currently buying shit on an auction site and flipping on Craigslist and Offerup. Interesting little thing he has going. I have him letting me know whenever he buys office chairs because I'm looking for a new one.
-
Read a few already. Very interesting site. Really makes me sad that someone could do that to their kid having done clearly like no research (or they would have realized how terrible it was).

Saw that a few months ago. I liked it. Was definitely entertaining.

Been listening to a bunch of Daft Punk lately. Don't know why, just got the urge.

Played Smash with Downshift the last few weeks a bunch too. We've been doing that single player mode as well. It's pretty fun. Downshift has played the game so much and gotten so much better it's not that fun to play against him anymore so this is nice. Also playing a bunch of Destiny 2. Yesterday I tried out playing it connected to my OLED TV. Fairly impressed my video card was able to hold down a fairly consistent 60fps at 4k.
