Howdy! Glad to see you signed up so quickly haha. What's new? How's the doctor stuff going? Give everyone an update! (I know WE already talked but still )
-
Hm this is definitely similar to me. Guess the new guy probably won't work for me either. I absolutely hate standing around playing defense.

I hear that AAA devs get better deals on Steam but Epic keeps throwing boatloads of cash at people to get them over there. I dunno. The whole thing just stinks and their attitude towards their actual customers is cancer. If they spent as much money improving their client as they do giving developers buckets of cash, maybe it wouldn't be so awful right now. Also I'm fucking especially annoyed because I've been using Linux and trying to game there. Valve has done a huge amount of work to get shit running on Linux and then Epic bursts in and doesn't even have a god damn Linux client for launching games.

The OLD school forum (WAB and USSJ bday)
webhead replied to Garlic Junior's topic in General Insanity
Close enough. -
Yeah that is mainly what attracts me to Ubuntu and Arch. I've been trying to main on Linux again for a bit here and now when I go into Windows I really fucking miss GNOME's activities hot corner feature being so easy. That and I love having GUAKE slide down for terminal shit (I have to SSH into my servers all the time for this and that). I've thought about trying Debian but that seems like ultra stable like way the fuck behind. I felt like Ubuntu LTS was a nice middle ground.

Surprise gift from Jovanna a few years back (who went with me) after we missed them when they were here while we went to Disneyland. Such a hard life.

You love me. DON'T DENY OUR LOVE!

So feel free to post in here but also DEFINITELY update the spreadsheet that I helpfully linked to on the Quick Links box on the Portal. That's a master list of everything for everyone. Gamer Tags/Usernames I think basically all my shit is on there. I'm going to take another look and see if we have *shudder* Epic launcher and stuff. You should all really update your info in the Discord column too.

@Truami You ever play with CentOS for web servers? I have tried a few times but I detest building my own software and their community repos don't seem as robust as Ubuntu.
-
Valve doesn't pay money for exclusivity. If Epic wants their own games there, well annoying but fair enough, but if they're going to throw buckets of money to keep games off Steam, that is crap. Actual competition would be multiple stores selling the same games.
-
They've started announcing games and such. http://genesismini.sega.com/ This one looks more promising than the other ones they've released. Looks like it'll be better than the PSX classic too.

I was going to try and list these in order and realized after literally the first or second one that I had no idea which one came next! So...you know, let's just get them all in a list. Bon Jovi - First one. Was fun. Always liked their early stuff. After the album with It's My Life, I stopped caring. Boring. Lollapalooza 2003 - Jane's addiction and Audioslave were headlining...also Queens of the Stonge Age and APC. Awesome show. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Lollapalooza_lineups_by_year#2003 Family Values 2006 - Korn, Deftones (holy shit they are awful in concert), and some other stuff I don't remember. They had a really cheap show one year because they were filming a video so I basically went to see Korn (and a band called Fly Leaf that I just remembered opened at the Smile Empty Soul/Cold concert and I kinda liked). Lol. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Family_Values_Tour_2006 End of Summer Scorcher 2009 - Local radio station's concert thing. Saw Five Finger Death Punch there for the first time (fucking awesome), OTEP was on a side stage...saw and actually HEARD them for the first time (was good shit), and Corey Taylor did some weird ass solo stuff. My uncle snuck in alcohol (I like going to concerts with him ). Searched a bunch and finally figured out the name of the concert and the whole lineup lol: https://www.last.fm/festival/1162945+End+of+Summer+Scorcher/lineup Muse - I think it has now been 5 times? Couple times with Nick (Celebrity Theater, some random festival in Tucson), Drones tour (in LA), current tour (holy fuck it was incredible, will share pics), and I'm certain there was 1 other I can't remember. Oh yeah, I actually saw them in Austin with Xy. Metallica - Just saw them a couple years ago for free with awesome seats (at the place Jovanna used to work where she still knows people). Avenged Sevenfold opened for them. Not bad. Avenged Sevenfold was not as good as I would have expected. Metallica melted our fucking faces off. It was just after Hardwired... to Self-Destruct released. Guns N Roses - Same deal as above. Axl can not sing very well anymore...but he did improve some from his lower point (before the rest of GnR would tour with him) and the show was still very fun. Slash can still play the fuck out of a guitar. System of a Down - Fucking amazing. Sad I've only seen them once. Opening bands were awful (went to this with Xy as well I believe). First band was called Bad Acid trip (appropriate) and then we watched The Mars Volta jack off on stage for like 40 minutes of solos. System was great though. Serj Tankian - When he did the tour for his first solo album. Was at the Marquee which was really fucking cool because I got to actually see him with my own eyeballs and not a TV screen. Went to this with Xy too? Audioslave - Saw them specifically as well in addition to Lollapalooza. God damn they were amazing. I think this might have been after their 2nd album? Smile Empty Soul and Cold - SES was surprisingly fun to watch. Cold refused to play Stupid Girl because they're just like too cool to play the stupid song the label made them write to play on the radio. They were still pretty good though. I like that song Suffocate. Absolutely none of it sounds anything remotely close to Stupid Girl. My uncle won tickets to this. That is why I went lol. I remember this particularly because the singer of Smile Empty Soul was pissed that his label was not releasing their new album for some reason and basically told us all to go home and just fucking pirate it then. Mindless Self Indulgence - I think I've seen them 4 times now? They always play at the Marquee (small venue here where you can get nice and close up if you like). They're fun. Breaking Benjamin - My brother's first concert. Also had a band called Starset opening for them that was actually pretty cool. Fun concert. Adele - Because David wanted to go with his wife so I had to go got to go with my wife. It was alright. She's not bad. Was never that into her but I enjoyed it for what it was. She's a good singer. I've searched my memory and past topics far and wide and I THINK this basically covers all of it? I went to a fair number of concerts with Xy.

I'm watching Dexter right now with Jovanna. Just started season 6. ADAMA AND COLIN HANKS.
-
They're not real competition. They're a shitty store, with no refund policy, no features, and they're trying to buy games away from everyone else. If they put an actual effort into developing a good store and client, it would be mildly annoying but fine.

Newegg had a good one. Discord: IMGUR adds meh button Durex Logitech Hamsters

On that note, don't remember if I posted something. Arrow ending after season 8 I feel sad because Stephen Amell is awesome but the show has been laregely meh from half way through season 3. There was a nice uptick for Season 5 but otherwise...ehhh....better to end it. Also: Felicity is leaving before the next season. They have improved her character greatly in the last few seasons but I still feel like she's ruined forever primarily because of Season 4 tbh.
-
Split into its own topic because why not? So we're up to season 7. Thoughts so far: Season 6 was interesting but largely inconsequential. They really should have done the Debra finding out think at the end of Season 5. Seemed like a waste of time. Still was entertaining for the most part. Dexter trying to find religion was kind of stupid. Like they were obviously trying to shoehorn that into the theme of the season and it felt super forced. Season 7 so far has been interesting for sure. I thought I was going to hate when Deb eventually found out but it's not bad so far. I'm not looking forward to season 8. I have seen a few vague spoilers about the finale. Blergh.

The lizard is a scientist living in the sewers whose reptile brain wants to turn everyone else into reptiles. Spider-Man finds him and destroys his dispersal mechanism. Dennis fuckin Leary is Captain Stacey (he dies telling Pete not to date Gwen because he doesn't want her to get hurt...he does anyway in the next movie and uh... should have listened to dad). Gwen Stacey (Emma Watson) appears as the love interest (closer to the comics) and has amazing on screen chemistry with Peter. Andrew Garfield is kind of a cocky Peter. Not my favorite but they definitely play up the genius part a lot more and show him making his own webshooters (love that). He's funnier in a cheeky way than Toby. Eventually that'll come off kinda douchey but in this movie I thought it was fun. They also very interestingly tied in some background with his parents which we've not really seen in the movies or cartoons before. Uncle Ben dies a little quick which is fine because we've already done this (Homecoming just skips that to save everyone time lol). The rest of the movie is just the origins of Spider-Man man with a sort of twist more towards Ultimate Spider-Man. I can keep going on if you like. I've seen the movie several times. I'm not sure why you're asking a guy named webhead to recount the plot of a Spider-Man movie to you like you think I've only seen it once. Rating is green (66) on metacritic with a 7 audience score which I would say pretty accurately reflects that I said it was "fine" and not great or bad. I'd place it probably 4th in the line of Spidey movies. Yeah thanks for asking I will rank them: 1. Spider-Man 2 2. Homecoming 3. Spider-Man 4. Amazing Spider-Man Yikes: 5. Spider-Man 3 6. Amazing Spider-Man 2 Worst of the good ones? Sure. Bad movie? No. It's middle of the road.

Borderlands drowns you in a sea of loot and there's so fucking much that you just try whatever. Yeah I won't get why this is so hard for everyone. These companies all seem to absolutely refuse to listen to their players about this stuff too (Bungie the most of all) so they end to spinning their wheels for a long time before they figure it out.
-
I think I might be able to make that happen for halloween.

MAKE IT CATS RIGHT MEOW!

Ahhhh excellent. I think I'm gonna buy.

We will do mafia some time in the future but not right now. When we do it, we will be moderating it like the rest of the forum.

Where are you seeing Remastered and Regular versions? I'm looking around and I only see one version in a combo and the same version where you can buy them separately.
