I actually read through Death Note for the first time about a year ago. I had already watched the anime multiple times, but never read the manga. I definitely think the manga adaptation is more successful and less corny. Does a lot to get us deeper in L's head as well as fleshes out some encounters better. I dunno, I'm still a huge fan of it up until the second half, especially the manga version. That said, I think the manga is also much more successful at telling the second half and I found it more engaging. When I re-watched the anime after for comparison, the second half feels so rushed and forced in comparison, with no reason to get attached to the new characters they bring in.

Yep. Things sound real sloppy right about now. If half of everything coming out is true, both the Elite and Punk are being asses. I do think Punk shouldn't have aired that shit out on a media presser though instead of actually like...furthering the product. I get wanting to clear the air on Cabana and I get not wanting to hold shit in. But this could have been internet speculation rumor that the fans could argue over whether it's true or a work or not, and if he had just been like "I didn't fuck with Cabana, end of story," then maybe the fight wouldn't have happened. Also, I really don't think anything Hangman did or said was that bad and for Punk to be so pissed about it seems petty.

Finally caught up on Sakamoto Days, and holy shit has it been great

Yeah, that's why I'm fine with the bi-weekly manga and letting them get some of those weeks off. In the case of Spy x Family, the quality is always worth the wait and I'd rather the writer stay healthy and happy to keep it going as long as they'd like then see them burn out trying to churn out a chapter every week

I haven't read that one yet, but I was curious about it. Either way, it's sad to hear about that, but I'm also happy that Shonen Jump has been doing more to foster the mangaka's health needs. They probably would have told him to power through it 10+ years ago

Honestly, the more ridiculous it gets, the more I'm into it in all honesty, I'd love for the next few chapters to be a big showdown and then release the series as a pair of OVAs if they can't fit the whole thing into a movie. I'd love to just get really baked and watch this craziness.

The anticipation for the rest of her performance is intense Also, finally caught up on Earthchild. Shit's fucking insane and like...I'm here for the ride, regardless of how long it is.

Really enjoyed that chapter

I was super into the Black Clover anime and have debated picking up the manga. I just really enjoy the characters and the big fights, and always appreciated that most of it went by fast instead of dragging things out. Also, I just want to root for Asta. But yeah, there are a lot of good series on the Jump app, both ongoing and completed. You can basically look in here and see all the ones dr. b and I have ranted about for some recommendations.

Haven't caught up on Sakamoto Days yet. I actually started my Earthchild catch up. I think I'm saving Sakamoto for last as I know I'll likely love it regardless. Chainsaw Man 99

Just finished the new Chainsaw Man and I loved it. Didn't even see Denji once, but it was a hell of a setup.

If true, it's about damn time. I also like the idea of there being a movie every few years because they've been more killer than the series, but I will NOT look forward to them making canonized episodes. It would be a shame for them to skip either the Moro or Granolah arc at this point, as that's a bevy of quality content with some pretty critical character development they'd be ignoring.

Oh, I did read that! I loved it. Also, new Chainsaw Man has me hyped
