I get being over Dr. Stone. I think I'll ways have a soft spot in my heart for it because it's what got me to start seriously reading manga in the first place, and I think coming back to it with big specials as opposed to weekly developments can help with the burnout. If anything, I don't think it's worth continuing as a long form series with it's pacing. I also don't think I minded the bit on Akane-banashi probably just because I was behind enough that it was just part of a swath of other good content. I'll hold out faith for the finale of this arc to deliver. And yeah, bomb, I haven't read Earthchild yet, but I was pretty shocked to see it was still going tbh. That'll be another binge at some point over the next couple days. Maybe today. I still have that, Undead Unluck, Sakamoto Days, MHA, Kaiju No. 8, Doron, Show-Ha, DBS, I haven't checked out any of the new entries, and then I still have to finish Ayashimon. I still got a.bit of a slate ahead of me.

Yeah, I also read an interview where the writer of Dr. Stone basically confirmed it might not be weekly, but the story isn't over. So even if it's just the occasional special, I'm excited to see more of the antics of Senku and crew. Caught up to Akane-banashi and I'm super curious to check out the next girl's Rakugo. But I'm even more stoked to see how Akane handles the Jugemu in the final. Also caught up to Elusive Samurai: Also, apparently Shugomaru DID end lol. I might finish it up since I kept up for 15 chapters. It was more amusing than I felt after the first two chapters.

Oh shit, I didn't see that Kakegurui is back. Is it still on Netflix?

Oh that's a bummer. I thought we were gonna get the fill 24 episodes in one run T_T

I'm definitely not doing any Isekai. I'm so tired of that genre lol

I'm pitifully behind on pretty much everything but PPPPPP for some reason, but I'll be fixing that soon. That's a bummer about Ayashimon, though Yet somehow, Protect Me, Shugomaru still lives lol

Super excited for S2 of Devil is a Part-Timer. And of course the next Dr. Stone season and Summertime Render. Not sure I care about much else, but I'll do as I normally do and read all of your reax and recs and see if I wanna hop on a new train. EDIT: Just saw Ryusui is just a special, not a full season -_-

Still staying in as creative. Who knows how long that lasts as more things develop, but man, that's pretty intense. Never would have imagined him ceding any power. And I guess in theory, if he's not CEO, there's potential room to be fired at some point. Not exactly expecting that, but man...it's crazy.

1.? Shadow Hearts 2. :snes: Earthbound 3. Paper Mario: The Origami King Finished Earthbound a couple weeks ago. I popped it on and started a new game to bullshit around for like an hour one day, and that turned into squeezing in an hour each day between school and doing homework for the last few weeks of finals. I only got to the part where you recruit Poo in my last playthrough, so this is the first time I've actually beaten it. I cheesed out some heavy grinding in the factory beneath Threed and that carried me through most of the game. Didn't get the Sword of Kings because I only checked the guide after after leaving somewhere to make sure I didn't miss anything, and it's missable. Awesome game. A bit easier than I remembered (probably cause grinding), but everything about it is lovely. Might try at beating Mother 3 again this summer. Paper Mario: TOK was amazing. Top to bottom I was enamored. I got this game the first week of the semester and I'm pretty sure it's the reason I started on such a bad foot, because I couldn't stop playing the damn thing. So I put it down until the semester was over to finish and 100% it this week. The combat ring system felt much more like a JRPG battle system, while still doing something fresh and different. It was frustrating at times, but usually rewarding. The way they flipped it for boss fights was ingenious, and those were always a blast to play. The aesthetics were gorgeous. The flat paper against paper-mache and origami backgrounds always felt so immersive, and it was just a treat to walk through the different locales. I absolutely LOOOOOVED the soundtrack right out of the gate. And jist the ways they manipulated the concept of paper and origami for environment, mechanics, boss and enemy design, and everything, it all just came together beautifully. The story was also one of the most touching and surprisingly serious of any Mario game I've played. Some legit heartbreaking moments all around, with the seemingly silly threat of being folded into origami actually being a lot creepier than you'd think. That said, this game also had some of the best, legit LOL humor in a game, and it was really easy to fall in love with the characters. That said, my main gripes with the game are the lack of in-field abilities to solve puzzles and find secrets, and the lack of a true party mechanic. The few party members you get are temporary and with one exception, specific to certain areas. Only one of them has any abilities that help you advance or find secrets, and other than the last one, they're pretty useless in battle. I would have loved something closer to the first two. But thankfully, the game was so good that it never fully ruined the game for me. Just made my love boner a half chub occasionally.

Apparently the woman who created this (Jessica Gao) also directed the Pickle Rick episode of Rick and Morty -
thanks for guaranteeing my future purchase

So, after reading Anelle's comments and having rewatched everything to show my girlfriend, I can confirm a lot of what she's saying. Spoilers in case this is something you'd rather put together yourself: Other thoughts that washed over me about the last episode after this rewatch:

Same. Both it and Spy x Family we're wonderful this week. Can't see what Lucky is up to next. I haven't read anything else yet this week, but the semester is finally over and I've got a lot more free time, so I'll get around to it soon.

Summertime Render

Not sure if anyone here watches/likes/hates SuperEyepatchWolf, but usually like watching his State of Shonen Jump videos. That was actually what got me to check out Dr. Stone and I've been reading manga more frequently since. Watching through it, I feel like @dr. b will relate to a lot of what's talked about in the first half having been through a bulk of the new series that debuted and passed over the last year. I also feel like his description of PPPPPP is the same way we were reacting to it along the way. Speaking of which, new chapter was pretty cool, but I always end up feeling like I want/need more. Can someone just make an anime already?
