The Fiend fucking with the production might be my favorite small detail of WWE right now.
-
I would love if they came out with a Joy-con that had the d-pad of the Lite, but I guess there's not a lot of economical use in it considering it's supposed to double as a button pad when you use it separately. But there aren't a lot of games where that's necessary.

I think the only new anime I've properly watched this season would be Dr. Stone and Black Clover. I've been watching Demon Slayer, but I'm only like 3 episodes in, so that's obviously not current season stuff. Between the two, I definitely give the nod to Dr. Stone.

[09/19/19] Weekly What Have You Been Listening To?
Psycho666Soldier replied to Vic Boss's topic in Music
I actually saw KRS-One at The Gathering of all places earlier this summer. He was good as I had hoped and better. We have to arrange a piece for my guitar ensemble, and I ultimately chose this to do. But I've been listening to the Undertake OST because of it. Also had a good jam with Parliament's Funkentelechy vs. The Placebo Syndrome. Hands down one of the best funk albums of all time. -
From what I understand, the second hour was only on the Network this week due to the Suits finale.

I'm hoping things like this and Sami playing manager to Shinsuke is a sign of things to come.

WWE OSF Pick 'Em 2019 Season - Stage 1 (aka: The Now-Slightly-Longer Season)
Psycho666Soldier replied to Blackjak's topic in Wrestling
Man, after killing for SummerSlam, I whiffed by not getting my predictions in on time. I was holding of to not spoil the winner of Gable/Shane, only to find out the KOTR final was happening on RAW, not Clash of Champions. -
God, I fucking love The Fiend.

When I was like, 8 or 9, I rented Parasite Eve. It was the first time I actually went through with playing a horror game, and I was really digging it. For some reason, only hours into the game, I let my friend convince me that the game was too scary, and that I couldn't play it anymore, so I returned it to the rental store. To this day, I've still never picked it back up, and I've regretted it ever since.

That's an awesome first memory. While I don't fully remember it, I apparently always tried to play my Dad's copy of Space Harrier when he was playing. So 4th Christmas, they got me a Super Nintendo. It came with Super Mario World, of course, but the other earliest games I remember we're Mega Man X and The Lion King. Those games formed my gaming foundation, and I was hooked. Especially with SMW and MMX. Been a gamer ever since. Shout out to video games being the reason I learned how to read(aka my parents got sick of reading things for me).

Now THAT'S how you do a 100th episode.

((Posted this at The Center, but since some don't really go there anymore, figured I may as well transplant it)) Been meaning to update this for a few months now, but never got around to it, so here we go. 1.) :snes: Super Mario World 2.) Hollow Knight (99%) 3.) Castlevania: Rondo of Blood (100%) 4.) Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (200.6%) Hollow Knight was a long project. I had played it fairly consistently for like 2 months until I hit the Trial of Fools and dropped it after many hours wasted on failed attempts. Eventually picked it back up this year to just go against my nature and explore the rest of the game. Ended up completing most of the base game. Finished the story, including the full boss sequence(going up to fighting The Radiance), found all areas, all but 3 of the charms, and finally turned around and beat The Trial of Fools. Now that I'm done with that, I basically need to comb through every area to look for what I'm missing to 100%, and then at another time complete the DLC. I'm probably going to do that all in one chunk, because defeating The Radiance was such a satisfying ending that I'm ready to put it down for now Rondo of Blood was a pretty quick feat. Once I had the option of playing as Maria, I was able to cheese the whole game. She makes that game stupid easy. But I went back and defeated bosses as Richter for posterity, and I actually finished the last couple levels as Richter and came back and beat Dracula with Maria. I love the presentation and music of this game, and having the different character was refreshing. But the movement feels unnecessarily stilted in comparison to Castlevania IV and Bloodlines. I love the old school Castlevania playstyle, but the art style and modern aesthetic didn't blend well with the rigid controls for Richter, so that made it a little harder to appreciate this game. Also, the bosses are a farcry from most that came before it. Symphony of the Night is just beautiful. Right up my alley. Big ass map with a lot of reward for exploration, a bit of XP grinding, and combat that is increasingly satisfying. I know some people dog on this one for introducing RPG elements and arguably taking away the physical challenge of playing the game in favor of the false feeling of getting better at the game through power improvements. That argument might be fair, but for me, it doesn't ever take away from the game being truly challenging. If you manipulate the ways to break this game, it can be a bit rough, but there are still many times I found myself dying in a frustrating stretch of hallway before a save point. Or getting that raw sense of accomplishment every time I vanquished a boss. The movement is truly the best, especially once you acquire the double jump. You feel like you can zip and flip your way around the whole castle in no time. I love how much it borrows from elements of the previous games(even Bloodlines!) while creating it's own sense of being, something that most of the Castlevanias before Bloodlines struggled with. And that soundtrack just kept me rocking the whole time. Completed the 200.6%, but I still have a couple trophies I have to unlock. One of them requires you to encounter all the enemies to complete a bestiary, but I apparently missed a tiny enemy that only appears as a spawn for a boss, so I'll have to play through the game as Alucard again to do that. With this and the fully completed Rondo of Blood trophy list, I think I'm at like 92%? I'll get the platinum a year down the road or something. I can't help but feel there should be one or two more games that I'm missing, but I've started a few that I haven't completed yet, so that might be contributing.

I'm confused on what exactly this thing is supposed to be...
-
Yeah, I assume it has to do with minor programming issues or something. Probably easier to make it a separate app altogether than to update the NES one. Played a 20-40 minutes of a few different games to get my nostalgia kicks/try ones I never did. Pretty sure Super Metroid got the largest chunk of that time.

Chances are you'll hear the songs and be like, "Oh, fuck, that's Rush?!" -

The first post of the WWE prediction thread says that. Because otherwise my answer would be no.

I remember it took me sooooo damn long to get through Stage 2. You know the one. The monkeys and the damn ostriches. I swear the jump timing on the ostritch part is one of the most obscure things ever. And then you realize that wasn't even the hard part. I would perpetually get stuck at the Elephant Graveyard. To this day, I still don't know if I've beat that game from front to back without the level select cheat. This is an awesome combo, though. A lot of nostalgia with these, particularly the SNES Lion King and Genesis Aladdin. Never much cared for the other versions, but frustrations aside, these were licensed games done right.

Some good shit coming up as far as plot reveals. Finally caught up to the anime. Don't have much to say other than another bang up job of being faithful to the manga. The scenes and characters feel fully realized in comparison to the manga counterparts. Still probably a couple episodes away from one of my other favorite characters from the village becoming relevant, but they showed a glimpse of him! Also, Suika steals my heart.

That makes a lot more sense. I remember hearing the announcement and wondering why it was so early that they were announcing matches. I'll be tuning into that for sure.
