Marvel Studios' She-Hulk: Attorney At Law (Disney+ 2022)

Was kind of fun to see her really Hulk out for just a bit. It would be cool if they did a storyline similar to Hulk Vol. 4 at some point. Grey She-Hulk was scary. -

Yeah, that was a fun one. I'm almost disappointed we're going to hit the inevitable "oh yeah, this is actually a super hero show" part since I could just keep watching her be a lawyer for dumb ass powered people forever. XD -
I think my only complaint past not being able to even read the subtitles half the time isn't necessarily about the anime itself. Which is: Ifeel like they really squandered Adam Smasher in the game. Between the talking up he gets, and what you see of him in Edge Runners, I've been retroactively let down by the fight with him in the game. XD

Wonder how long it will take before someone manages to lip read what they're saying just to see if they weren't just saying random shit.

17.) Elden Ring FINALLY! This game was amazing, but god damn is it enormous and time consuming too if you play games like me. I know I still didn't manage to do everything still too, not counting quests that I couldn't finish because of choices I made. Really had fun with it despite the frustration at times and the fact that I don't much care for souls games. Might actually try to wrap up the achievements too since all I have left is the ones for finding the different legendary items. The environmental storytelling in this game was beyond compare, even if the actual narrative felt a little too light handed at times. I stayed engaged though, so it couldn't' have done too bad of a job.

They definitely nailed the vibe from the game 100% from the looks of it, and I recognized a number of scenes as well (and almost instantly teared up in a few cases. X_x ). It definitely looks promising so far.

I'm impressed you could actually read the damn things. I've had to infer what's going on half the time. Whatever genius decided to put pure white subtitles with now outline or anything on them in a show with non-stop high saturation neon lights needs to be slapped. Other than that the show is pretty good. I still have a coupe eps. left to get through. Does a 10x better job of introducing you to the world than the game opening ever did.

16.) The House in Fata Morgana Not that I've played a ton of games in the genre, but this is by far the absolute longest visual novel I have ever played in my life. It just would not fucking end. 45 hours and I finally hit the credits. It was good, if a bit padded feeling at points, but fuck. I was ready to be done with it about 15 hours ago. Still was a really unique story though for what it was. It came highly recommended and I see why. Would have made an interesting anime.

Secret Invasion looking more "spy thriller"y than I would have thought. Might be a fun direction for it. Also, this is a thing. Was NOT expecting this, but I'm intrigued.

15.) Stray This game was pretty entertaining. Not terribly long or particularly engaging though outside of "lol. Am cat." It being short was to its benefit here though as the game isn't long enough for the charm of it to wear off. Story felt a little forced at times, but was interesting at least. Feels like there were some missed opportunities with the game, but it was still quite enjoyable overall. Might take a stab at the Platinum if the speed run trophy doesn't end up being too bad.

Marvel Studios' She-Hulk: Attorney At Law (Disney+ 2022)
Mera'din replied to Mera'din's topic in Movies & TV
Yeah, that was really good. I kind of hope the whole show is her trying to avoid the super hero shit as much as possible and getting dragged into it against her will because that feels like the right way to go about it. XD The Sakaar ship was definitely interesting though. Makes me wonder if the show won't end with that coming back into play and Bruce having to leave Earth (Planet Hulk time?? ? ) and convince Jen to be "available" if a Hulk is needed. Was also kind of hoping her goading and being instantly better at some Hulk things than him was going to open the door for him loosing control again too though. Guess that could still happen. -

Not like there's a whole lot to say about the show itself at the moment anyway. XD Though they did put up a little featurette thing that was kind of interesting so I guess I can put it back on track with that? It seems that was definitely Titania that we saw. -

Yeah, I've seen similar comments from Hiddleston as well. As for GotG I think Bradley Cooper and Dave Bautista said they were completely done for sure. I know most of them didn't want to do more without Gunn otherwise (think he might be done as well? Don't remember if he said for sure). Don't recall seeing anything one way or the other for the others there. -

To be fair, it seems like most of them did to some degree or another (ie: RDJ, Evans, and Johannsson). Some of the GotG people seem pretty much done after Vol. 3. There are only a few that seem to enjoy the role itself enough to be cool doing stuff in perpetuity (which seems to be the case with Hemsworth and Hiddleston at the very least). -
14.) It Takes Two This was a really great game overall. One of the best co-op experiences I've had. It's really nice to see how much stronger this kind of game can be when it goes all in and actually requires co-op. Mechanics were fun, story was interesting if not anything spectacular (and both the characters are kind of not great people honestly XD ) and the levels were all really cool, interesting, and varied. Lot of fun moments all around. Glad this game did as well as it did, because I definitely want to see what else this studio can do. I've enjoyed their previous game as well as Josef Fares' first game, but this one was on a whole other level.

Marvel Studios' She-Hulk: Attorney At Law (Disney+ 2022)

Conversely, the studio could certainly slow the fuck down too. As much as I love the super hero stuff and am fine with the pace it's releasing at, I know there are plenty of people that are getting burned out by it anyway. Stretching the projects out a bit isn't going to hurt anybody. Especially if it avoids ridiculous work load and hours for people. That seems unlikely though, so they should probably just strike. XD -

I sincerely hope they do. Especially with as much money as these things tend to make above and beyond their budgets, they should definitely get paid properly. -
Marvel Studio's Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever (2022)
Mera'din replied to MT's topic in Movies & TV
Those would be Atlantians, lead by Namor aka the Sub-Mariner. Seems like they are setting him up as the villain initially. Not sure if that will persist through the whole movie or not though. They've made him pretty hostile and elitist in some things I've seen/read, but I don't know a ton about the character outside of the fact that he's been around pretty much forever in the comics (was created in the 30s I think?) -

I think it may have been, yeah. Seems like they could just throw in a ton of B and C list villains for something like this and it would be great. XD And that was definitely Daredevil. No way they have a show about a superhero/lawyer and not put in the other superhero/lawyer. Really looking forward to this. Seems like they're going for the 4th wall breaking they used to do all the time with her so that's gonna be fun. CGI definitely looked like they had improved it some more. I'm not expecting it to be perfect though. This probably didn't have the kind of budget some of the bigger names/things do so it's fine. I probably would have been fine with the worse version ultimately. -
Yeah, at first I thought she shape shifted since that was a thing that happened in the comics when she first got her powers, but based on her reactions it seemed more like the switched places. Will have to rewatch the scene though. Also guess I was right on the rolling the Inhumans into the mutants thing. Even if they use the royal family again they could just make them a faction of mutants at this point. That artical tracks as they pushed the Inhuman thing HARD in the comics with the whole terrigen bomb thing and creating a ton of new ones (and killing off a shitload of mutants in the process) so they were definitely gearing up for that. Then they went and screwed up the Inhuman name too much for the MCU. With them having the mutants back anyway, it's the smart thing to do to just do a reversal on that. They're functionally the same thing anyway. Overall I absolutely loved the whole thing though. My misgivings were gone pretty early, but they just kept showing time and again, that even though they had to change some pretty fundamental stuff, the source material stayed important. They adapted a LOT more of it than I thought, and improved on it in a number of ways. I'm interested in seeing more from this show runner and these writers for sure.

I really enjoyed it overall. Agree that Ragnarok was the better movie, but this one is still better than the other two. Christian Bale was excellent, and I feel like the way they did Gor was almost a glimpse at what Malekith SHOULD have been. Loved the goats too. Glad they finally put them into one of the movies too. Was hoping he would name them as well. Got what I was hoping to see the entire movie too: Hercules! Looking forward to seeing him and Thor together. That was always one of my favorite rivalries in the comics. XD The 2nd after credit scene was nice too. I figured Jane disappearing into gold dust stuff meant she was going to Valhalla, but it was nice to have it confirmed. Also dat Heimdall cameo. There was a lot to like in this movie that helped elevate it I think, but it did have a couple issues. I do feel like the movie felt rushed though. Cramming all of that into 120 minutes felt weird. Nothing had room to breath and it made the pacing feel really off. I'm also disappointed they didn't do more with the Necrosword. I legit thought they might sneak in a solid symbiote reference at some point (though the monsters it made definitely had that sort of vibe). Curious if they'll do something way down the line with it and maybe build up to Knull perhaps.

13.) (Steam Deck) Aperture Desk Job This was basically just an elaborate tutorial for using the Steam Deck controls, but was wonderfully absurd in the typical Valve/Portal style. Didn't take much to get through, but any excuse for more Cave Johnson is always welcome.

11.) Ghostwire: Tokyo Was an interesting game overall, but it leaned WAY too hard in the the open world, collectathon shenanigans to the point of extreme tedium. Combat also got a little samey by the end, but that didn't bother me too much since all the hand movement animations were kind of fun to watch. XD Lots of cool Japanese cultural stuff, and all the monsters and yokai and stuff were really interesting. Had a lot going for it, but definitely needed a smaller map overall and some things tightened up. Playing on PS5 was probably a mistake though as the aiming on the controller was utterly unpleasant at default. Had to dick with the controls for almost an hour to get to something that felt playable. 12.) Donut County Fun little indie game that was pretty straight forward and short, but quite humorous. Had a light sort of Katamari Damacy vibe. Plan to run through again to try and get all the trophies. Seems like you have to do specific stuff in levels for them and seems like it will be relatively entertaining and get. Nice palate cleanser sort of game.
