As soon as the last episode ended with her needing to go to Pakistan, I knew where this was going. They are REALLY condensing some of the comic storylines. Makes it feel a little rushed, but they are doing a great job of fitting everything together and making it work with the original material. All the thematic stuff is there and done even better in some cases. Can tell the people writing this really cared about what they were doing despite having to change things. Only thing I miss is the just absolutely stupid, Ninja Turtle level villains she had to deal with multiple times throughout her early stuff. They had a certain charm that the show is missing out on with not using any of that material. I get it, but it still would have been nice if they could have fit one in somewhere.

10.) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge As MT said, I played it through with her and web. Was a hell of a nostalgia trip. Fun little game though. Wouldn't mind playing it with others doing various shit in it whenever. Nice distraction from the other stuff I'm playing.

Technically, you CAN grind for the best stuff. Someone did the math. What are you doing for the next 10 years?

Yeah, the whole thing was just dumb fun mixed with weaponized nostalgia, and I loved the whole thing. The whole explanation for where those shitty knockoff movies come from was hilarious. The when they make fun of stuff that does an updated theme song when everyone just wants the original and then proceed to do exactly that got me too.

9.) Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong Made by the same company that made 'The Council', it's a narrative RPG that plays out something like a Telltale game, or something like Detroit: Become Human but with legit RPG style stats that effect how successful options while talking may be and important conversations kind of play out like a battle. Lots of adventure game style puzzles as well that were pretty well done. Overall a better comparison is probably Disco Elysium, but nowhere near as much depth as that game had. It's a smaller studio, so the character animations are a bit janky and character models leave something to be desired, but it isn't quite as "uncanny valley" inducing as The Council had been. Some decent replay value as well as some choices definitely take things in pretty different directions by the end. Had a lot of fun playing it. Probably going to go for the Platinum since it doesn't seem too bad overall to do and can skip dialogue if I've seen it already now that I beat it once.

He's not dead. He's in multiple things set after the time period where this series takes place. >_> I do wonder why they altered his design so much though. The Grand Inquisitor looked a LITTLE different than other Pau'an we've seen but not THAT much different. They've done others of his race in live action stuff before and they the difference in appearance even from them is pretty substantial.

Marvel Studios' She-Hulk: Attorney At Law (Disney+ 2022)
Mera'din replied to Mera'din's topic in Movies & TV
There will be other stuff until then though. I really like the way Disney paces their stuff (assuming you're all in on both the Marvel and Star Wars stuff anyway) since it seems like there's never a huge wait before something pops up. Moon Knight just finished up not long ago, Obi-Wan in less than 2 weeks, then Ms. Marvel in June, which should carry us to less than a month to wait for She-Hulk. -
8.) Sifu WAY too many games came out all at once and I can't decide what I want to play half the time. Sifu was the first of them but Jesus was it fucking hard (for me at least). I made it to a little over 3/5 of the way through the game but the 4th stage was just beating my ass, and the boss is cheap as fuck. Put it down once Elden Ring and Witch Queen came out and hadn't gone back to it until this week. They did a big update and added difficulty modes (one easier, one harder) and I was finally able to get through the rest of the game. The getting older each time you die thing is interesting. Really fun combat. It never felt unfair and was really fluid. I've just always been terrible with stuff that relies heavily on dodging and parrying with precision. Story was interesting if relatively simple. Has some decent replayability with learning the level layouts and fights, finding all the collectibles, and trying to get through stages at the youngest age you can. Going through again to get the other ending now since I feel like I won't have to fight it every inch of the way now.

Apparently there are currently no plans for another season. When the put the trailer out for the last episode out originally, it said "Series Finale" (it got pulled shortly after and replaced with "Season Finale"), and all the main actors/actresses have said they were only signed for 1 season and there were no plans given for another. Most seem willing to do more though so that's something at least. I personally liked the first couple episodes, 3 & 4 were where it got rough for me.

As SOON as he said he'd let "both" of them go, I was like "But not the other one! " I knew we'd see Jake SOMEWHERE before the end after that. Would have been cool to see the fight near the end instead of just the aftermath, but it was a good callback to Steven first learning about Marc so I wasn't too upset about it. I was kind of iffy on some of the middle episodes and started to feel like the writing was failing the show a bit, but those last 2 episodes REALLY made up for it.

There was a new discord channel made for it so I've been talking there lol.

I feel like this question was already answered by the other topic, even if he came a few days early. Enjoy your day!

Holy shit. Now that one is utterly unexpected.

So this is finally happening: Doesn't look terrible. Some of it seemed a little weird vs what I've seen in the games, and hearing a different voice for Master Chief is going to be weird. Wonder if they just couldn't get the original guy or didn't want to? The person playing Cortana is just her voice actress, but people seem to be pretty upset she's not blue. I have no intention of getting Paramount+, especially for this, but I'll watch it eventually in some fashion or another I guess.

Yeah, I think they original belonged to Mar-Vell. That's certainly a possibility. Might be taken the wrong way by people if they go that route though, since I believe her bracelet was supposed to have been passed down from her grandmother, and I thought was specifically a Muslim thing. Can't remember for sure though as its been a long time since I read the original issues of her comic. There may still be a way to swing it I guess, as it definitely looks like she finds it in an old trunk in her attic or something to that effect though.
-
I think there were rumors about it at some point, but I never saw anything confirmed that I recall. Anyway, changing HOW she gets her powers I get, but completely changing her powers and how they work feels a little... weird. Think this is one of the only times where my initial reaction to one of these trailers has been (at least partial) disappointment. The rest of it felt pretty in line thematically with her comics though, so we'll see how it goes. I wonder if the bracelet thing she's getting her powers from is going to be tied to whatever the deal is with the Ten Rings.

Better to buy the PS4 version. Comes with a free upgrade to the PS5 version (some day when you can buy one without jumping through hoops) and is $10 cheaper than the PS5 version because reasons.
-
It's Playstation exclusive (for at least a year anyway). >_>

Enjoying it for the most part, but haven't had a lot of time to play (at least partly because Destiny and Elden Ring keep eating a lot of my game time). Also, I think I'm like 15 hours in and I still haven't actually entered the "Forbidden West".

Thanks everyone.

7.) Halo: Infinite Kind of mixed bag here. The story starts off obnoxious as hell, and it feels like 90% of the campaign is just there to fill in the time gap where what felt like what could have just been an entire other game happened. 5% of what's left is the whiney normal soldier guy you're stuck with yelling about how they need to GTFO and the last 5% is listening to Darin DePaul as the main(ish) villain monologuing the rest of the story. It only got super interesting at the end when the other main(ish) villain does some cryptic shit that leaves the game on a cliffhanger (as usual). I spent a good few hours confused about who the bad guys were because I didn't play the RTS games I guess? Gameplay was stellar. Weapons were fun and interesting and the inclusion of the grappling hook ability was excellent, though it made literally every other ability useless and not worth upgrading. As such, the attempted open world side of the game kind of falls flat since there's no need to seek out more cores to upgrade other stuff because you have everything you need in like 3 hours worth of time. Unfortunate because the open world exploration was actually kind of fun to dick around with though it was a bit to "by the numbers" Ubisoft style for me. Attack and capture enemy stronghold > reveal things nearby on the map > get things > repeat. I'm wholly convinced at this point that Halo is just Xbox Kingdom Hearts. New race or faction of enemy what feels like every game. 8 side games/movies/whatever that all end up being important to the main story to varying degrees and you'll be completely lost half the time if you didn't at least read a synopsis on them. Also super annoyed that they never fully resolved stuff with the Flood like 4 games ago only to find out they did. Kind of? In another side game.

Ivan Reitman died last week. 75 so at least not crazy young like some of the recent ones, but not super old either.

I was reading a blow by blow of the trucker convoy protest thing last night on twitter. Seems like that god a little wild. A Porno-Metal Song About Gay Cowboys Is Disrupting the Anti-Vax Trucker Convoy -
That is NOT what I was expecting when this was announced, but it does seem like it could be pretty fun and clearly doesn't take itself seriously at all so I'll give it a watch.
