Marvel Studio's Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)

Tom Cruise as a Superior Iron Man would be pretty hype. -
I’m really impressed by Kirby. I originally didn’t have any interest in it but it’s slowly won me over more and more. Really smart for them to lean into Mario Kart 8 and doing a new Wii Sports and Xenoblade 3 is a big deal even though I don’t personally care.

Yeah I think it was a smart idea to include Mando. Their Boba content hasn’t been great and It really freshened the show up. The face still looks a little off but MUCH better. The voice is weird too, but I guess they’re using AI fuckery with that too. Half of me wants them to just recast and the other half hopes this is just an ugly period and the tech gets much better in the next few years.

Its odd to make a show out of this property. A movie is a better fit, where you can just go all out with effects. It’s really amazing that they haven’t made a movie or show out of this until now.

I have a friend who loved the Shadow Hearts series. #2 is most peoples favorite.

Yeah, I watched it too. Not sure what to think entirely. It was headier than most Marvel films, which is unique at least. I think it was pretty good actually, just not a film you walk out of feeling great about

I saw this today. Overall I thought it was fantastic. I think my biggest gripe was on how the movie ended on such a down note (though I think this was chosen because of Marvel and Sony’s need to renegotiate). After seeing this massive spectacle of a film where any fans dream is possible it was just brought it all back down to earth and the business side to it. I would have also loved to see Green Goblin get more of an individual fight, similar to how Doc Ock did (might be the best sequence in the movie). And maybe when he came back had an actual goblin mask and not the goggle thing.

The musical bit was pretty damn funny though… Finished this up last night. Thought it was alright but not great. In “The Falcon and Winter Soldier” range of quality. Too many forced yucks in the second half of the series. I wanted to be invested but everything was just a joke. Odd juxtaposition with the Kingpin showing up who is a more grounded and scary character. It was cool to see him but felt squandered. Also I’m sure he’ll be back but not great to bring him back just to immediately imply that he was shot and killed. Like 6/10 in total?

I still haven’t seen it. I’m vaguely curious but I also just want to go back and rewatch the anime. Kind of makes me wonder why any of these reinvisionings need to happen (outside of $$$) at least a movie would have had to structure the story in a completely different way.

Yes, they just think she is a noble woman. She also gives them a trinket earlier on which hasn’t been included. In the book I don’t think Rand and Egwene had a sexual relationship. They were just childhood friends/sweethearts. From what I remember Perrin was not married or engaged. That character is completely new.

I’ve seen the first three episodes. I’ve only read the first book thus far but I’m also confused at some of the discrepancies. The book portrayed the adventure much more as a coming of age story while the cast of the four seem much more mature already in the show, which is kind of odd. I guess they wanted to draw people in more with some sex? Idk. It also feels like they’re going at a pretty fast pace, where I feel like part of the success of the book is it really took its time on all the story beats. I’m definitely glad that we’re getting stuff like this. As a fantasy fan it’s pretty awesome. Just some of the decisions made are odd.

Yeah I had very little interest going into it but I thought they did a very good job. The choreography was amazing. Was kind of leaning back until that bus scene and they had my attention after that. Definitely some flaws here and there but fun enough to not really care at the end.

Been reading Four Knights of the Apocalypse. Loving it so far. Still very fresh and fun at this point. Reminds me of what the beginning of Sins was like.

I finished the game a couple of nights ago. Overall I absolutely loved it. So glad that we are getting consistent 2d Metroid games and I hope this continues. I was really annoyed by the slide and taking so long to get the morph ball at first, but after you start fleeing the EMMI and you start sliding and jumping around so fluidly it made a lot of sense.

I’m reading the Origins manga right now and enjoying that for the most part. I’ve also seen the first five or so episodes of the original anime and I’ve seen most of Wing. Enjoyed both. Like the OG anime more. Wing had some good ideas that didn’t get executed very well. Definitely a universe I could start to jump into.

Yeah I was definitely shocked by the ending at first and kind of disappointed, but that’s because I’m used to all the Marvel movies and shows resolving themselves. Loved this show overall. Can’t wait for season 2.

Yep, saw Black Widow last night. Definitely put it in the 7/10 range. Not bad but not great. I loved the opening 30 minutes or so. It felt really grounded and gritty. Then as the main Scarjo part started unfolding I just got less and less invested. Got too goofy for me after David Harbour got added back in.

It’s expensive too. There aren’t enough new features to make it worth that price. I can’t imagine the screen is that awesome.

Bought the first volume for this because of the recommendations here. Enjoying it so far!

I didn’t even notice that I thought it as just a stylized “A” for the next Avengers.

Finished it up last night. Definitely thought the second half of the show was better than the first but still felt like a lot of it fell flat. There was a lot of different story threads going around for only a 6 episode series...and a lot of them didn’t really get their just do. Seems like they tried to go for everything when a couple of elements should have been cut. Sam Walker being approached by The Countess stuff could have been post credits. I really wonder where they’ll try to fit him in going forward. I don’t think he’s popular enough to appear in a movie or get his own show. Maybe as just a very minor villain going forward? I’m looking forward to Loki though, I’ve enjoyed the trailers so far.

Bucky and Falcon seem to kind of half-ass everything in this show. They never have a plan and they just blunder through everything. Doesn’t help the writers seem to like to add jokes when they’re blundering through everything. Which, if this was Spidey or Ant-Man that would fit but with characters like Falcon, Zemo and WS it feels off. It’s surprisingly not well written in many areas. Consistency is kind of Marvel’s thing at this point. Unless things really shape up this will be one of Marvel’s biggest misses. Edit: Also this should easily be a home run. Bucky is a great character in general. The stuff with the old Asian man is gold. And with Falcon, a black man, not feeling like he deserves the shield and then the gov tricking him into donating it just to give it to the most milk toast guy ever. There is a lot of good stuff here structurally. This show should be better

I picked up Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology earlier this week. I wasn’t really interested at first but I kept here good things, downloaded a demo and am really digging it so far. It’s amazing how far good gameplay and interesting game mechanics can go.
