Ogre Battle 64 is a really solid RPG that is very unique in comparison to any other RPG series and didn’t get its due credit during its day.

Hmm, yeah not in the US but on the new HBO service apparently you can watch them so I might have to check them out. I own quite a lot of them on Blu-Ray. They’re actually not that bad off Amazon. I haven’t seen all of them. Mostly some of the older obscure ones that are harder to get or the newer ones. I probably have seen all but 4-5 or so. It’s hard to pick favorites. The vast majority of them are wonderful in so many ways and typically have some flaws here or there. Mononoke is probably Miyazaki’s most impressive work. It’s hugely influential and amazingly inventive. I think I’m similar to Jane with a lot of my favorites: Whisper, Kiki’s, Laputa and Howl. Spirited Away is also one of the more technically amazing of the bunch but for whatever reason I’m not as inclined to go back and rewatch it. And yeah Earthsea is probably the worst, which is a shame because the novel series is good.

There was a Direct too. https://www.nintendo.com/nintendo-direct/03-26-2020/?cid=Direct&eid=Direct032620&crmid=F308A85F-3391-41CD-87BF-E837141E20EE

Fire Emblem: Three Houses Black Eagles Path It was a very solid Fire Emblem title. A lot of cool new additions. The combat arts and battalions/gambits/monster enemies especially. Not sure of how much I loved the monthly cycle. Seemed to spend a lot of time on running around the monastery and othe padding but I did like how the skills were done and training the party in certain areas every month. Story was not the best but not the worst. The one thing I don’t like about the branching path games is after beating a path there seems like so much left that isn’t answered. Really good characters overall though.

Do they have manga with Crunchyroll? Honestly Comixology is pretty solid. Most things are pretty affordable and they have big sales every now and then.

Has anyone been reading scanlations recently? I know Manga Stream went down recently and I think another big one. People are basically saying the scan community is dead. I haven’t read scans in a while so wondering if someone else has more info. I started reading Witch Hat Atelier. This series is awesome. A must read for manga fans of the shonen/shojo variety.

The original trilogy was a lot more planned out. There were definitely changes that were made along the way but Lucas’ original script was huge and he took the first 1/3 of it and that became A New Hope. There is really no reason Disney had for not envisioning an entire trilogy to begin. Even worse they picked three different directors and had them all write independently.

FF7 Remake got delayed into its old launch window, so maybe that’s why they moved it back?

Yeah, I definitely think going far away from the Skywalker saga would be best. Definitely do past things before any Skywalker even existed. Maybe far enough down the line, like 10 years from now, they can expunge 7-9 and do a different thing like 100 years after Luke died, maybe Hamilton making an appearance as a force ghost if he’s still around. but that also might be hard for people to grasp. They were alright entertaining films but definitely don’t love what they did with the post Jedi mythos.

Yeah I finally saw Ep 9 over the weekend. I thought it was decent. A fun ride at least. The trilogy as a whole was definitely a blown opportunity but it was a fun diversion for a while at least, which in the grand scheme could be worst. I definitely think Kennedy needs to go and should be replaced with Filoni. Promote him to be your Feigi for Star Wars and go from there.

I think Mega Evolution is a letdown because that has been in the last three games and is a fairly large mechanic not to keep. Other features coming and going are not that shocking because that’s how it’s always been. The games are selling extremely well. I think the largest backlash was from the most hardcore fans and it seems even they ended up buying the games anyway.

These are some of the worst starters in a while. Maybe ever.

Little Town Hero was pretty poorly received overall too. This should be a huge release and I feel there is no enthusiasm behind it.

And Inafune didn’t know the industry? Kickstarter stuff always worries me and they’re such nice people I’d hate to see a face plant.

Wow, I did not know about that. It’s really cool to see how much success this group has gotten while keeping their original show/stream humble and grounded. Glad I can check it out. It would really suck if they might no. 9’d this.

I was a little worried after some of the first looks but that trailer was awesome

So do you take one word from each list randomly and make an illustration out of it?
-
Yeah, I agree the price seems high. I wish it were like $40. The one nice thing about Nintendo having a separate handheld line was the cheaper price point games.

My initial reaction to this was not great. I think ideally I would have loved to see the original really just given a ton of polish. This is a completely new game. That kind of spits in the face of one of the greatest games of all time. The hubris in that makes me worry about an oncoming crash and burn. All that being said I did like FF15. I prefer older school ATB stuff but the gameplay in 15 was pretty fun. The story was where things went wrong. But that is already supplied for them in this case. I’m being cautiously hopeful until it comes out.

I’m starting to get hyped for the Links Awakening remake. Seems this style would be great for a new Earhbound/Mother too. Just saying Nintendo...

Lost Children is one arc I’m curious to go back and read because I’ve only read it once I believe. such an odd vibe to go back to after the long Golden Age arc. It’s like “oh right, I was just reading an incredibly long flashback”

So you don’t need to watch Genisys to see this? Could be good if everyone feels ashamed and need to put the franchise back together. Action seemed too over the top though.

Sword Art Online Knights of Sidonia I would also second Blame!

The numbers of the volumes go in order the story was written so as long as you read the next numbered volume you’re good. The doctor character looks similar to Minister Foss so that might be what you’re thinking of. He only appears in this arc. I believe and old woman gave Griffith the Behelit. I remember thinking how amazingly plotted Berserk was when I read it. How many small details appear early on that foreshadow future events. The I read an article where Miura says he basically makes it up as he goes and I don’t believe that for a second :P

The manga is pretty good but I haven’t read it in a while. Some good storytelling though.
