The fact that nothing opens until 10AM. My daughter's up at 6, it's raining, what the f&^% am I supposed to do with an energetic toddler for four hours before she starts to tear the house apart? And then by 11AM she needs to eat and take her nap, so there's no point going anywhere in the morning, and in the afternoon she's cranky. PARENTHOOD.

Golden Compass is a mixed bag for me. I both totally love its utter debunking of Christianity (and the Miltonic influences it plays with in doing that), but can't help feel kind of pandered to as an atheist >_> As a piece of writing, has some great bits, but ultimately was kind of forgettable (except for daemons and the armored bear. They were great.)

I saw Captain Marvel Shazam! And I quite liked it. It was sweet, and that made it feel fresh; first superhero movie that really gave me *superhero* movie feels in a really long time - I've enjoyed many Marvel movies, but they increasingly just feel like action movies that happen to involve superheroes. Hope DC learns from this one.

Yeah, whatever happened to CLAMP? Cheesy as hell, but I still kind of loved "Tokyo Babylon" in all its gothic sexual violence, gender-bending glory.

I have a real soft spot for Ranma 1/2. It was THE THING for a while there, so popular it even became cool to hate on it - now it never comes up. But it's hilarious. (At least the manga is - I never watched the show.)
