Got back from seeing this today with friends. I honestly loved it. It was a good balance of new with nostalgia. Hit a few good jokes, great effects.

Okay just finished the last ep. I don't 100% hate it but I do have a couple of issues of things. But overall it wasn't a total shit show, probably one of the better AMERICAN live actions done let alone live action adaptations of an anime I've seen in while. I give it a 80ish% score. The good stuff first. They pretty much stayed on par with keep Yokko Kanno's music in and keeping that aesthetic with the vibe of the show. Whether they just used the tracks from the original show along with some original music in there or all of it, I liked that. I have no issue with the order of their bounties. Most of them were stand alone stories with elements that kept the main story moving along with Spike/Faye and other things. So them being rearranged isn't too bad in my case. I loved that they kept Big Shot. I would've been legit sad if they kept that. I loved the visual stuff they kept to that. All the easter eggs. Most of the cast was well done, and even with the faults I find I think the actors did the best they could in their roles. I don't even have an issue with Alex Hassell since the only other role with him I've seen was The Boys as Translucent. The fight scenes were for the most part well done and filmed well, if not a little slow in some fights where I feel it was slowed down for some reason but meh. They definitely tried to keep the spirit of the show intact and in some parts they succeeded at. But not entirely, which is sad for me. But it's not TOTAL garbage. The viewers who aren't familiar with the original show will most likely enjoy it because I have a feeling a lot of this was catered to them. I'm not surprised it's getting the the 50-67% ratings from IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes. Now to my issues, and again most of this is from what I remember and I'm re-binging the original as a refresher so this maybe edited later on.

Overall, it's still worth watching for a lot of other reasons, at least once all the way through. They do a lot of good stuff here and there but that is one of my biggest complaints so far and i saved the last ep to watch this morning since i was getting tired last night and there's more i need to touch on that subject.

At ep 9.

I'm about halfway through ep 4 and so far.....I don't hate it? I do have some thoughts though and I will probably rewatch the animation before confirming some of them. Music is fucking spot on though as well as the actor who plays Jet.

There is too much to start watching >_>;;; I got through episode 1 before i switch to finishing Arcane. It has been YEARS since i've read some of the books and i only gave up on that because the writing style was meeeh? But also too many things happening to keep teenage me's attention long enough to stick with it. That being said, for far i am enjoying it. Costuming is well, like the soundtrack. We'll see where this goes.

Also anyone like how the animation is made for anything involving liquids or smoke? Like how it looks 2D tho it's not? I feel like they got one of the people who did one of the shorts from Love, Death+Robots from this style.

Never played the game but i am very much enjoying the show. I thought initially that it was gonna be a movie because of how the trailer laid it out (at least from my pov haha). Agreed the use of 3D is top notch and the OP is fucking banging. I can't wait to watch the next 3 eps uploaded today.

they are the fucking best. you can either make them crispy or nice and plump gooey and i always do a mix of both cuz some of my friends love the crispy ones more.

The facility made sure she had drugs and oxygen to keep her comfortable. when dad told me last night what was going on they were expecting her to last maybe the week. So I'm very glad it didn't drag out that long for her. We've also had crazy stormy weather up here including tornado warnings in some spots so my dad was lightly joking how she is going out with a bang. I know I'll remember her best when cooking/baking because majority of my stronger memories of her is at gatherings and her always prepping the best food in the kitchen. One of my favorite cookie recipes are hers.

Been a hot minute since there's been an update post here and I'm sorry its one of ill tidings. My dad had texted me yesterday so having the call from my mom this morning wasn't too surprising. But my grandmother had developed a fever recently and was having trouble breathing. Probably from something she had ingested mom thinks. But she passed away this morning. I am okay, red eyed for sure after talking with mom but I'm OK. I'm personally surprised she's held out for so long after so many falls (1 where she somehow survived breaking her neck) and fevers. Being stuck in a bed for the last few months, barely being "there" or responding even though we know she could understand well enough if you talked to her. My mom and I are pretty sure she's only held out so long because of my grandpa and making sure she was there for him because of how long they've been together. I am thankful she was able to finally able to let go peacefully and comfortably with my dad and his siblings there, and that she can finally rest. My grandpa seems to be doing okay with this transition since all the intermediate family is there, my brother and I had talked to him on the phone a bit. I'm also glad my dad can be less worried about her with her health flipping so much in this last year during a pandemic.

I didn't even bother watching the next PE after that last ep. And Nelle said it just gets worse so not gonna waste what little time i have for most things on something that's gonna keep sucking.

I heard the rumors. And this pleases me.
