today in small pandemic victories--- finally got myself a haircut. I was right at the point where I was like "oof I need some of this gone" when the pandemic started and it's just kept growing. I'd been finally planning to get one and then delta was like lol nah but I found a place that is lil suites instead of full open floor plan. Bye bye almost 5 inches of pandemic hair!

Fall is bringing me some shit I've been really hyped for! KOMI-SAAAAAAAAAAN MIERUKO-CHAAAAAAAAAAAAN Demon Slayer! I dunno how long of a wait it'll be for the JJK 0 movie to hit US theaters but I want to see it in one if at all possible. ISEKAI SHOKUDOU SECOND SEASON YAY! First season was cute so I'm looking forward to just enjoying more lil slices of life on that Interested in Platinum End, I've been meaning to read the manga for ages but at this point maybe I should just go for the anime. Or binge the manga and watch the anime. I'm also interested in JJBA Stone Ocean but I am really really really behind on all that. I'm just gay for Jolyne.

There's definitely precedents for medications to be repurposed into things way outside the scope of what they were developed for. Hell, even Ketamine! I personally know a few people who have had some amazing breakthrough results doing clinical ketamine therapy for their depression! But with this fucking Ivermectin bullshit all these same people who are using "well there's not enough time or proof of what these vaccines do for this!" as their argument against vaccinations are somehow just champing at the bit (pun absolutely intended) to ingest horse paste because REALINFO.CUCK.INFO told them that the government knows about this but doesn't want to tell them! "Ivermectin's been around for years! It's proven!" I saw someone say. Yes, it has....FOR DEWORMING. There ARE small studies trying to see if it's effective covid treatment but that doesn't mean jack shit. The disconnect is just staggering.

It just baffles me that people will screech that vaccines are "unproven" and dangerous but then will gladly ingest horse dewormer. Everything baffles me. TIRED

So there's an anti-parasite medicine called Ivermectin. It is most commonly used for animals, particularly horses, so you can go to feed shops and buy it. There have been some experimental treatments for COVID that use Ivermectin as part of it, and they're largely inconclusive on whether it has any benefits. It's basically the "new" hydroxychloroquine buzzword drug that the "government doesn't want you to know!!!" type thing. So rather than seeing that there's studies about it going on and thinking "man I hope those show we can repurpose this common drug into a treatment plan, that would be great" you have people going "SEE WE'VE HAD THE CURE THE WHOLE TIME AND THEY'RE LYING TO US ABOUT IT GO TO THE FEED STORE AND BUY SOME" So you have people going and buying versions of this that are rated for horses with no idea how to dose. You have people spreading rumors about it like wildfire on social media. Some dumbass we know has fallen deep into the conspiracy theory rabbit hole and has been posting shit and once again I am just fucking TIRED

Lee just got to talk to him for the first time since this morning when he told him he was being admitted, he's feeling better for the moment but says it kinda cycles. He's on oxygen and waiting for a real room/bed to be available but for now is just in a sort of triage situation with the ER. No idea when he'll actually get one since Texas is absolutely fucking dumber than shit and everything is overrun. The dude has 4 kids, a couple of them had COVID a month or so back but now their families are having to juggle them on top of everything and aw3rhbgtanfbzdgsvaba definitely feeling angry right now

Lee's best friend was admitted to the hospital today. His wife is a fucking nurse and he still didn't get the vaccine. He started having symptoms about a week ago and has just gotten progressively worse to the point where he was admitted today. I'm so tired. I'm so angry and sad and tired. My cousin is apparently doing better, she lucked the fuck out. Dumb. Dumb dumb dumb.

this is very first world problem but a while back when vaccinations seemed to be picking up we bought tickets to Wicked and I was very excited to go and now there's just no way in hell we are. Shit sucks. Pandemic's not the only factor in this (it happens that the earliest time I can get my next spinal injection is the day before) but it's still such a feeling of defeat. I miss the world, I miss life. More and more people close to me are being affected by this shit though so I'm not going to risk it
