We finally got to see Demon Slayer Mugen Train It was soooo good! Been looking forward to this for a long while.

I can't even watch Mars Red because the Funimation site is breaking for it specifically and I don't care enough to seek it elsewhere. It really seems like one of those "arty" things that you either like or you don't. I've enjoyed what I've seen but not in an overly enthusiastic way, hopefully they fix their shit so I can keep going.

The scans I read had the pig latin! I do not remember which group I started with, but they had the pig latin! They treated some of the other character's speech quirks differently though, so when I did switch to the official stuff I remember being a bit jarred by having to shift how I read their speech, particularly Chrome. I fucking hate the "baaaaad" thing. Gen does a thing where he'll switch the order of syllables in a word or phrase in the original Japanese. So he might say "paisen" instead of "senpai" or "goisu" instead of "sugoi" Localizing this to pig latin flows better than doing the same in English because people are more likely to understand that him saying "Ool-cay" is pig latin for cool over him going "Olco" It's one of those verbal tic things common in anime and manga (DATTEBAYO) that falls super flat in English so they either axe it, turn it into a catchphrase or alter it to flow better!

I'm always left glad I read the latest chapter. There's plenty of series I love where sometimes I read a new chapter and am just like ok well I guess that's it for now moving on, but with Spy X Family I feel like I'm always like "yes, this chapter was also a treat and I can't wait for the next" The whole comedy of misunderstandings is done so well and Anya's reactions and the faces she makes are hilarious

I'm gonna be in the minority but I had a blast with this. Mortal Kombat has never in any way been a GOOD franchise, and this movie was stupid, violent and the 2021 version of campy and that's literally the entire MO of the series. I'm hoping it does well enough for a sequel. I want more dumb shit to have fun with! edit to add that I do have to dock points for lack of techno, but that falls into the category of "2021 campiness" vs "90s campiness" DOUBLE EDIT TO ADD I KNOW THAT TECHNO SYNDROME REMIX IS IN THERE I MEAN 90S STYLE TECHNO I AM VERY TIRED

I read the first chapter of i tell c when it debuted and then forgot about it completely. I might catch up on it just because I need some distractions. I'm also firmly in the highly recommend Spy x Family camp, it's a treat every time

So Lee and I just started watching SK8 today! Only one ep in, we'll watch it gradually since he doesn't really like to binge watch and I'm gonna just watch it as his pace but the first episode was a lot of fun!

god this latest Vivy ep was soooooo good and yesssssssssss get more into Shadows House yesssssssssssssssssss if it continues on this track it should be really good, the manga is fantastic

Watched first ep of Mars Red this morning and enjoyed it, did a bit of googling to see direction and stuff and found out it's based on a stage reading play so that should make for something different at least i also made the mistake of looking at some other forum discussions about it and holy goddamn shit weeaboos are the fucking worst lmfao
