Great running commentary! This story definitely gets weird and dark in spots, and goes in all kinds of directions, but I think it’s been pretty great so far. I agree that Wit Studio has done a really good job.

Platinum End #20 -- Better than #19, though I guess that's not saying much Not much excitement, but at least this episode was more compelling. Yoneda is becoming a more interesting character. Ousama Ranking #19 -- There was some great action in this episode! You guys and gals are missing out on some fun if you're not watching this.

    Diablo 2 Resurrected

Matriarch sonus, welcome to the fold. Six down, only one left to go! Druid -- Summoner Druid, later re-spec'd into Wind Druid -- DONE Sorc -- Fireball Sorc, later re-spec'd into Frozen Orb / Fireball Sorc -- DONE Necro -- Summoner / Corpse Explosion -- DONE Barb -- Double Swing / Frenzy Barb, re-spec'd into Singer / War Cry build -- DONE Pally -- Conviction Zealot -- DONE Amazon -- Charged Strike / Lightning Fury / Freezing Arrow Javazon -- DONE Assassin -- Fire Trapsin My plan was to go all-in on Lightning Fury / Charged Strike and all of their synergies, as a pure Javazon, but I decided to re-spec in Hell and make her a hybrid Javazon / Bowazon to make lightning immunes easier to cope with. In the end I maxed Lightning Fury and Charged Strike for my main attacks with javelin, and Freezing Arrow (and almost maxed Cold Arrow as a synergy) for when I would swap to the bow. This charater was a bit of a glass cannon, and I had to play more cautiously than I did with the Pally that I Pat'd just before, but overall it was still pretty easy. Lightning Fury melts mobs of monsters that aren't lightning immune, and Freezing Arrow freezes everything so that adds some safety. Next up: A Fire Trapsin. I'll have to mix in something else, most likely Death Sentry or maybe the Blade traps, in Hell when fire immunes start popping up all over. But a pure Fire Trap build should get me through Nightmare without much trouble.

This is a really killer instrumental cover of "Reelin' in the Years". The interpretation of the vocals on baritone guitar is very nice. Nate Smith an incredible drummer. And Cory Wong just chugging away so steadily on his Strat is low-key great. He's got good time. Last but not least, Joe Dart, is taking a bit of a backseat on this track. Very tasteful playing on the bass.

    Nintendo General

Anybody here interested in Triangle Strategy? Played the demo? Thoughts? Curious to know what other people think about it. I've yet to find an SRPG that I really enjoy, but for some reason I keep wanting to find one that I will like... I haven't tried the demo yet, but I've been toying with the idea trying it out. Even if the demo blows me away, I'm certainly not buying an SRPG for full price on release, but I might Wishlist it and watch out for a good sale later on. If it doesn't sell well then it won't be long before a good deal will be available.

I think I’ll keep following Akane-banashi. I’m such a sucker for this kind of redemption story.

    Spy X Family

Unfortunately that’s not ringing a bell for me. My brain has lots of holes in it Good thing the anime is coming up this spring—hopefully it will help jog my memory. edit: it’s probably because I was late to the Spy x Family appreciation party, so I binge-read a big chunk of it to get caught up. It’s easy for me to forget things when I do that.

Lots of (I hope) good new stuff to read this All the usual weeklies, a new Spy x Family, a new DB Super, and a new series. Dr. Stone #230 Earthchild
  13. Huh. According to leaks, a pretty big chunk came from U.S. donors. After that, I would’ve assumed people from Alberta and Saskatchewan would have given the most donations. That’s a lot of money coming from B.C.!

Yes the voice acting was pretty solid, and I was actually enjoying some of the background music quite a bit. It seems like they’re trying everything they can to make this good, but it still falls flat. I can see it being more tolerable in manga just because it would go by so much faster, like you said. Oh well. 5 episodes to go…

  16. I think most provinces in Canada will end up saying the same thing. It's basically just passing the buck onto municipalities or individual business owners, because the provincial/state governments don't want people to be mad at them anymore Anti-vax types are going to get real cranky if certain places still ask for proof of vaccination even after the government stops mandating it. Hopefully it doesn't create more divisions within communities

I might check it out... I wonder how much of the story can be covered in 24 episodes..? If it's for sure only 24 episodes and then done, then I'm interested, but I don't know if I want to sign up for something that's going to run longer. Looks like the manga has been on hiatus for a long time now, so I guess they can't plan an anime to cover the whole story, since it isn't finished yet. But if they can do a good chunk of the story in 24 episodes with a satisfactory ending then I'd be up for that.

I've enjoying the heck out of these big band arrangements of Monk tunes lately, MONK'estra conducted/arranged by John Beasley.
  19. Yup, that's pretty much all that any of us can do. I'm happy to continue wearing a mask regularly even if other people don't want to anymore, and if I don't feel great about going somewhere (crowds and all that) then I just won't go.
  20. I haven’t been following things too closely except for what I hear on the CBC radio news when I’m driving. Somehow they have not mentioned anything about Ram Ranch Kudos to these folks for messing with these dummies in the convoy. Cops aren’t doing shit so it’s time for everybody else to do something about it.
  21. We're all gonna get there eventually I guess, so maybe it won't hurt to get a head-start. Out in the open air, I've never bothered to wear a mask. Seems unnecessary. Maybe in a big crowd? But even pre-pandemic, I avoid crowds and large groups, so I'd never find myself in that situation anyways Indoors, I think it's probably reasonable to forgo a mask if you keep a good distance from other people. Like, at my company's warehouse, we've got about 15 staff in a very large shop. The Health & Safety rep doesn't give them a hard time if they pull their mask down when working independently. There's tons of space. But when a few guys are working close together on something, they're expected to wear a proper mask. Recently I've been seeing the odd person going around the grocery store without a mask on. Looks kinda weird at first because I haven't seen that in while, but it doesn't really bother me. I'm happy to keep wearing my mask though.
  22. Ontario will soon be dropping proof of vaccination requirements and most capacity restrictions. I think that will be fine. The percentage of the population with two doses of the vaccine is pretty respectable. And they've said that masking isn't going anywhere just yet. That would be premature. I certainly won't mind not having to show my proof of vaccination when I want to get into places. It's kind of just a nuisance. I have no patience or tolerance left for the people protesting against vaccine and public health mandates though. Just cut it out already...
  23. Been a while since I bumped this thread… The situation with COVID is much improved… Now the problem is the people protesting against vaccine mandates and other things Anti-mandate protest outside B.C. high school leads to confrontation, protester hurling insults at student

New series this week, Akane-banashi. I don't know jack about rakugo, but I'll give it a shot. There was enough there in the 1st chapter to pique my interest. Everything else this week was decent. Nothing really major to note, but I did get a kick out of what happened in The Elusive Samurai.
