What out-of-season anime have you watched recently?
dr. b replied to Vic Boss's topic in Anime & Manga
I finished off Those Snow White Notes last night. More awesome music throughout the final episodes, but I wasn't very satisfied by the ending. Too many things left unresolved. It feels like there should be one more episode to tie up some loose ends... give us an OVA or something. The source material is a long running manga, so they of course cannot wrap up everything in just one season of anime, but surely they could have ended this better Unless there's going to be a second season eventually, though I doubt that. -

Watched another 5 episodes of Those Snow White Notes last night. The group performances at the competition were great. Setsu is starting to figure out his sound. I wish I started watching this sooner. -

No, they shouldn’t!!! -
I like the idea of the leveling system. I will be playing the Pixel Remaster version on mobile. I’m not sure if any changes have been made (other than graphics of course) from the original NES version to improve it in any way. I think the Pixel Remasters are supposed to be pretty faithful to the originals, just with updated graphics.

I watched the first four episodes of Those Snow White Notes last night. I like it quite a bit. I thought of checking it out during the spring season, but I was already watching several other shows. Now I can just binge watch it The shamisen music is fantastic. The story itself is not incredible, and the pacing is faster than I expected (especially the first episode—lots going on!) Also the mom character is just ridiculous. But whatever. The music is very cool. -
Self isolation, social distancing, sheltering in place, whatever else you call it

The Ford government wants nothing to do with a vaccine passport, so I don't know if we'll get one in Ontario. I think it would be a good idea to need to show proof of vaccination to get into higher-risk places like indoor gyms, etc... but I can also see how some people would find that problematic. We'll see what happens. -

Well that didn't take too long -
There have been some slow spots, but overall I am still enjoying Aquatope quite a bit. It’s all I’m watching this summer, outside of old stuff. It’s a feel-good kinda show.

Chris Davis retired. Boy did his production fall off a cliff a few years ago. It was almost comical how bad his slump was during his first really bad season, but then he never rebounded from it became a pretty sad thing to watch. -
The FF2 challenge in honour of the Pixel Remaster release: Just fucking play it No special rules. Just play it. I’ll have a go. I’ve never played it before.

I'll probably still vote in-person as usual. I'm vaxxed to the maxx and don't mind waiting in line (if there even is a line ). Seems like a lot of people don't want an election, so maybe turn-out will be poor anyways. Unless the CPC really rally the troops to get out and vote against Trudeau. But the CPC can't even get along with each other very well right now, so I don't have much confidence in them to get their act together either. -

Sounds like we'll be seeing a snap election call very soon. Going to the polls in September could be a total shitshow depending on how things go with the virus over the next few weeks. Lots of people are gonna be mad -

A headline I read the other day: 'No doubt' Canada now in 4th wave of COVID-19 as cases spike across much of the country Yay You've gotta figure it won't be as bad given how many people are vaccinated, but a new school year is right around the corner here and I don't want my 10 year old at home all the time anymore. School needs to stay open plz, I don't care how COVID-y things get -
I'm caught up on Neru now. The first chapter didn't hook me right away, but the next ones were solid. I'm enjoying the entrance exam. Another manga reminding me of H×H and the Hunter Exam. I'm getting the itch to re-read H×H now...

2021 Baseball Season AKA Pandemic Baseball: The Second Wave

The Jays took 3 of 4 games from Boston this weekend! Friday night they thumped Boston and had a 9-run inning (glorious stuff), Saturday was a double-header with a couple of close games, and then today was a comeback win on a Springer 3-run homer. The Toronto bullpen is still a concern… but the lineup is so dangerous. They are on a roll since moving back to Toronto. -
I didn’t know there was going to be a movie but I guess I don’t need to watch it so all’s well

I don’t go to conventions and stuff like that much for fun, but I normally hit quite a few trade shows throughout the year for work. The biggest one is pretty massive, every winter at the Metro Toronto Convention Center. Thousands and thousands of people go through the trade show each day. Gonna be kinda weird going back to that if they’re back in 2022. I haven’t been to any shows (except virtual ) since March 2020. -
I was gonna read Neru last night but decided to read a book instead. It sounded interesting to me though. Guess I need to check it out this weekend!

Anybody else read the DC3 one-shot? There are some elements of a fun and interesting story in there, though I'm not sure if the author has any intention of doing anything else with it.

While that is nice, I'd rather the Mariners just lose The Jays need to go on a run to get back into the Wild Card picture, but they also need some of the teams ahead of them to start losing more. I can't believe the M's are still doing as well as they are. Their record in one-run games is pretty incredible. When games aren't close though, they tend to lose a lot. The run differential isn't good. -
It’s not a very long game, particularly if you roll a favorable set of jobs. Play on an emulator with liberal use of fast forward and you’re done in a weekend

Win #2 is in the books. My all-magic team consisted of Black Mage / Summoner / Red Mage / White Mage. Very fun, but too easy That’s probably it for me for this Fiesta. I might do the FF1 challenge now that Gilgabot threw down after the pixel remaster games launched.
