I've done the play-all-the-levels thing a few times and yeah it gets annoying towards the end. I wouldn't bother at all with World 7 anymore, and I don't think there is any shame in using a P-Wing to fly through certain very annoying/cheap levels. Doesn't really matter how you get to the end credits as long as you get there! This one's on my radar. I don't feel like spending the money right now, but I will grab it eventually. It's actually 25% off right now but I'll wait for a bigger discount.

Self isolation, social distancing, sheltering in place, whatever else you call it

I didn't hear of much vandalism or other dumb shit around here this Halloween. Hardly anybody was out to begin with. -
When OHL hockey comes back in Feb., bodychecking will not be allowed Who knows, games might be more fast and exciting without checking ... not that I watch fuckin' minor league hockey ... but it's not really going to look like hockey.

What out-of-season anime have you watched recently?
dr. b replied to Vic Boss's topic in Anime & Manga
Welp, that's it for the City Hunter movies The most recent movie, Shinjuku Private Eyes, was done in 2019. Fantastic animation. I'd definitely recommend it for a little taste of what City Hunter is all about if you've never seen the anime or 90's movies. I think I'm gonna watch Shinjuku Private Eyes again this weekend I found a live action version of Angel Heart on Crunchyroll but not the anime. But! Crunchyroll does have all of the Cat's Eye anime, so next I'm going a little further back in Hojo's catalog to a mid-80's anime about three cute sisters who are art thieves -

I'm not normally sentimental about stuff like this, but man this was a pretty lame Halloween Hardly any kids out there, probably 2/3 houses in our neighborhood weren't giving out candy. We still ended up doing pretty well, and all the people we did meet were really nice... but it was nothing like trick-or-treating used to be -
Netflix 2021 anime lineup Some interesting things in there! I've been looking forward to more B: The Beginning. I'll definitely check the new anime original from Wit Studio, and Spriggan, as well.

Hand had a 2.05 ERA in 23 games this summer, 22 IP and 16 saves. 0 HRs allowed, 29 Ks and only 4 BB. He's a pretty damn good reliever! And he's only 30 years old. Obviously $10 million isn't nothing, but it's not unreasonable amount for a talented reliever like Hand in today's game. This really doesn't bode well.

Kiddo and I went out to the local Party City store to shop for a new Halloween costume (which she apparently had to have ). There were a lot of people in the store, I couldn't get out of there fast enough But we've got the costume secured, so trick or treating is a go for tomorrow night even if it's snowing! -
Teams are declining options on players' contracts left, right, and centre. Good players, bad players, doesn't seem to matter how much or little the options are for. I think free agency and the winter is going to be pretty ugly. Seems like all the teams are crying poor. Sucks big time for the players.

So Halloween is in two days What (if anything) are you guys doing for PANDEMIC Halloween? Home owners: Are you going to give out candy like usual-ish? Or just turn out all the lights, close all the blinds, lock the doors and pretend like you're not home? Child owners: Are you going to take yer kiddos out trick-or-treating? Party goers: Maybe skip out on the Halloween party this year..? It's going to be a bit chilly Saturday night. The forecasted high for Saturday where I live is 5 C, so in the evening it will be a bit cooler yet. At least it's not supposed to rain. But given the cooler temp, I'll probably leave the toddler at home with my wife and take our 9 year-old out to get some candy. I'm curious to see how many homes in our neighbourhood will bother giving out candy. We'll take whatever we can get. -
White Sox to hire TLR as their new manager The White Sox had a very good year, finished 35-25 this summer, and have a talented young core of players. I'm not sure I could think of a worse pick for manager than La Russa I'm calling it now: It's not going to end well.

MLB is investigating it. I think he could get a fine, not sure about a suspension though.
-
I definitely think they should have left Snell out there. He's gone over 100 pitches a couple times this summer I think, and he was only at 73 when the pulled him last night. If you're gonna lose anyways, it might as well be with one of your best pitchers on the mound instead of a reliever. I'm not sure if Cash actually made that decision though

Why did the Red Sox trade Mookie Betts Of all the teams to cry poor. Everybody else dreams of having a guy that talented on their team. He's a big contract player, but they could have afforded it I think. Dodgers 2 outs away now, up 3-1. Can't believe I'm still awake. *** Dodgers win! Urias is a stud. Totally shut the Rays down at the end there. Bye bye baseball until next year (maybe, who knows what will happen when?)

The 8pm start time and length of game pretty much guarantees that I won't watch the whole game. Might make it until the 6th/7th depending on how much run scoring is going and how slow the pitchers are working.

I thought Final Fantasy was on the NES thing that comes with Nintendo Online... turns out it isn't Maybe it was on the NES Classic? (Which I don't have anyways) Time to get an NES emulator!

The guy who runs the Four Job Fiesta is running a fall challenge play for the OG Final Fantasy I'm in The event runs until Jan. 1st, so there's lots of time to work with. I got Fighter / Fighter / Black Mage / Black Mage

Hatsune Mike Project DIVA: Mega Mix Working on getting Excellent scores on all songs on Hard difficulty, which is proving to be more of a challenge than it ever was on the Vita's Project DIVA games. Extreme is going to be a headache, and I don't know if I will go on to torture myself with Extra Extreme

The Dodgers are only one game away now No game tonight so both bullpens will get a bit of rest. The Rays are gonna throw the kitchen sink at the Dodgers on Tuesday night to try to force a game 7. According to MLB.com, the probably starters for Tuesday are Snell and Gonsolin, so I think that definitely favours the Rays.

I didn't get to see the game last night, but it sounds like it was pretty exciting. Over four hours long though - oof. Some of the games I've watched this postseason have been awful in terms of pace of play. Slow pitchers really turn me off from a game.

re: Jujutsu Kaisen: I fell asleep during episode #2 It got better though in the third and fourth episode and I am looking forward to #5 next weekend.

I can't say I'm a big fan of K-pop. I heard more than my fair share of it during my last few years living in Vietnam when all-things-Korean were skyrocketing in popularity. It didn't do much for me and much of K-pop is a pretty big departure from the noise I usually put in my ears. But I got turned on to this artist So!YoON! this week via a a collaboration with a really cool Thai singer/songwriter that I follow, and here we are -- I can't stop listening to this album. [Here's the link to the album on Spotify if you do Spotify] There's a lot going on on this album. The open / title track starts like an atmospheric electronic song, but when the guitars come in it gets kinda psych-rock-ish. Track #2, "zZ'City" starts with a really nice vocal over some very nice and subtle synth. I think the best way I can describe this is bedroom / dream pop with more hifi production quality. Whatever you wanna call it, I think it's the stand-out track on the album and a great song. Track #4, "Holiday", is a very funky number. I like the horns and the very subtle (almost too buried in the mix) guitar track. It's my second favourite song on the album. The rest of the album keeps the variety coming. "Fntsy" has some rapping going on, which isn't totally my thing but it's got a decent groove. "A/DC=" is a very electronic tune with a bit of a psychedelic feel. And then you've got a couple alt-rock sort of tracks like "Forever Dumb" and "Athena". Did I mention that this gal can play a pretty mean guitar? It's a shame she didn't take a solo during the interlude, she's clearly got the chops for it. I don't think there are any solos on this album for any instrument - that seems like a bit of an oversight, but oh well. In short, this album is rad and you should check it out

The tests aren't 100% accurate after all. My mind sometimes wanders and I think, what if I do/did actually have it..? But I think the odds of all four of us getting false negative results are quite slim, so I will try not to let my imagination run wild and just assume that the tests were right. It was just some other kind of cold virus. (I think ) -
