Thanks for the tip, I forgot to reply earlier in the week We already got her setup with Procreate on the iPad and she's loving it so far. Definitely *a lot* to learn, but she has at least got the hang of working with layers, changing brushes, drawing, filling in colours, using the eye dropper / colour picker, etc. Don't need much more than that to start. We'll just keep learning as we go.

Self isolation, social distancing, sheltering in place, whatever else you call it

That sounds kinda frustrating. My situation is a bit of the opposite; even though we're being very careful, really limiting non-essential stuff and pretty much not getting together with anybody, many of my relatives (mum especially) are like hyper-serious about this stuff and will sometimes imply that I am not doing enough to stay safe. I got lectured because I do not disinfect my door knobs and keys every single time I leave and re-enter our apartment I wear a mask, wash my hands religously, keep my hands away from my face unless I'm sure they're clean, keep physical distance from people, don't really get together with anybody anyways, etc. I feel like that is satisfactory. -
Since when does anybody visit anybody anymore More like "bring your own controller and proof of vaccination when you visit" whenever that time comes

The Rays better not let it go to game 7 Tough finish to Kershaw's start last night.

Yeah, I was pretty surprised. Less than 48 hours. I was expecting it to take 5 or 6 days. -
Did you see that 11-run first inning last night? 10 of those runs scored with 2 outs Might as well have called the game there.

Got our results this morning - all of the tests were negative. Huzzah. We are once again allowed to leave our apartment -

How much time between that gathering and when Lee went to get tested? I think if you go too soon after a potential exposure, there's a chance of a false negative..? -

We did the up-the-nose thing this morning. It's pretty unpleasant. -

We can expect day-time highs of 15 C if we're lucky this time of year, more likely closer to 10. At night it's not dipping below 0 yet, but it'll get close. Not cold by any means, but after summer people aren't ready to have to dress for the cooler temps and then those cold viruses starting flying around. -
Barves scored 4 runs in the 9th last night to beat the Dodgers 5-1. And now Kershaw is scratched for today's game (back spasms). Could be a quick 2-0 lead for Atlanta, though they also have a pretty long history now of postseason disappointments so I would not be shocked to see L.A. punch back and even it out. Which team can out-choke the other?

Yeah, our little one started it all on Friday night with a very runny nose, then it was my wife, then me, and then our older daughter started coughing yesterday. Coincidentally, last week was our toddler's first week at childcare. Colds go around a lot at childcare centres. It's also been cooler weather lately. Lots of people get colds this time of year. But it seemed a bit irresponsible to just assume that it's only a cold. On the off chance that it is COVID, I don't want to be responsible for spreading it around -

My wife, kids, and I all came down with cold- and flu-like symptoms over the weekend So I booked us an appointment at the COVID assessment centre at the local hospital and we got tested this morning. Apparently it can take anywhere from 24 hours to 6 days to get results - and public health will only call us if it was positive - so I'm going to spend the rest of the week checking for our results online It is going to be a long and boring and frustrating week. -
But still Rays ALCS: Rays vs. Astros NLCS: Dodgers vs. Braves Who ya got going through to the World Series? I think the Rays were clearly better than the Astros in the regular season, but the Astros do still have quite a bit of talent on their roster. I'm leaning Rays here. On the NL side, while the Braves are very good with a lot of talent in their own right, the Dodgers are just too good. Their run differential is nuts. I think they had the second fewest runs against in all of the MLB, and the most runs scored - though the Braves scored a ton of runs too. So it could be a bit of a bloodbath if the Dodger's pitching lets them down. I want to see a Rays vs. Dodgers World Series. Two very good teams, one running one of the lowest payrolls in the whole league up against one of the biggest spenders in the league. Let's do it.

This is turning into a bit of a series. Even if it ends Sunday night, good on the Heat for taking a couple games from the Lakers. I hope they can win another though
-
The Raps avoided an upset on ring night I figured they'd look a bit rough in the first half and then figure it out in the second half and go on to win - didn't think it would be that tight and go to OT though. It's a shame we didn't get to see Zion (and won't for a while).
-
Turns out the Dodgers are pretty good RIP Dads Really need the Rays to knock the Yankees out today. Plz Rays

BARVES strike first! 3-0 now in the 3rd, still no outs - tough start for Sixto Sanchez. --- 5-0 now in the 5th. Not looking good for the fish.

And here I am thinking these are best-of-7 series Guess I wasn't paying very close attention. Kershaw wasn't great night, but good enough at least. Jansen tried to blow it in the 9th though I doubt we'll see either team that's down 0-2 come back for a 3-2 win. Perhaps there is still some hope Oakland and NYY being down 1-2, but those odds probably aren't great either. Dodgers/Braves should be a good NLCS if that's how it ends up. I don't really like any combination of teams on the AL side.

Kershaw may be a different story this postseason. As usual, he was very good in the regular season - but he only had to pitch around 60 innings, not the usual workload, so I think he's still got a lot left in the tank for the postseason run. He pitched brilliantly in the WC game against Milwaukee. 8 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 13 K, 93 pitches. I'm excited to see what he does tonight. He'll be facing a tougher lineup than Milwaukee's, so I don't expect another 8 inning gem, but it would be great to see a pitching duel. (Only problem is the Dads are a bit short on pitchers... kinda hard to have a one-man duel )

If it turns out to be another Astros / Dodgers World Series then there are going to be some pretty juicy stories. Are they still cheating? Etc. Not really what I want to see though.
