Definitely a special game, you can easily see why it saved the franchise. Easy to understand mechanics, good characters, story wasn't anything special but it didn't need to be, and the future-children aspect of it was pretty cool.

World's 7 and 8 are designed around doling out cheap deaths and the game is much more keyed to using suits to make it through levels rather than having the suits accentuate your unpowered skills like in Mario 1. I guess it feels more balanced if you skip levels and use warp whistles and the like but I played through and beat every level and definitely started hating it near the end.

Oh, it's just for covid reasons. That kinda sucks for the youngins because they're not gonna develop a decent sense for protecting themselves from a body-check

I think the camaraderie of the characters is so strong that single episode training filler or "Prickly Queen fails to tell Yami she l-l-l-l-likes him" slice of life can be really entertaining. Filler arcs have the potential to be really cool, like some filler dungeon or filler magic zone or something, but trying to tie it into the main plot when it can't move the main plot forward at all seems a bit like a mistake. (Then again endless anime probably shouldn't exist these days anyways, but yeah) I'm cooling on the plot but the action is so fucking cool in this

Mario 35: I've got over 50 wins and I've got my first star on it. I mostly use it as a podcast game. :snes: Mario Picross: On Level 10 on Mario's side. Fucking love Picross. :snes: Mario All-Stars Mario 3: Probably have to restart, I don't have enough suits to make it through World 7 by beating every level. Kinda don't like this game. Fire Emblem Awakening: Got my last few characters to unlock their support conversations, I'm starting to clear out the extra battles too. Genshin Impact: This game is fucking dangerous. It's got that Breath of the Wild "Oh what's that [Three hours later...]" thing going for it. The other night I started a quest, and then it took me two hours to get back around to it because I got sidetracked going in the opposite direction. I'd be up for multiplayer on this too, though I assume it'll chug quite a bit because the game kinda does anyways. Also I've apparently got two or three 5-star characters in the few 10 Wish rolls that you initially get in the early parts of the game. Chaoxytal linked me to a video showing one guy spending $2000 (real money) trying to roll for the Zombie Loli Qiqi that I got in like my third roll not even specifically aiming for her, dat luck

YOSHAAAA, been saying it for like two or three years but I finally caught up on the Boruto anime. Was def a mistake to do the catch-up on two endless anime at once but it was close enough when I started Bleach that I still got through it pretty quickly. Also the next episode of Boruto is about the Scooby Gang infiltrating Orochimaru's lair because a make-a-wish kid wants his autograph, filler can be pretty a-okay (acks the recent filler arc from Black Clover suuuuucked but the the individual training episodes, like Gordon sneaking into the bath to wash Gauche's back still make it worth it) Also Bleach in the Soul Society Arc is so goddamn hype

Sasha worries me whenever she's in big gimmick matches. She's a) willing to take horrific bumps and b) so good at selling bumps anyways that everything in those matches looks like it kills her. That one bump on the stairs nearly had Cole say "Holy shit" on air but he just managed to catch himself.

The Roman Reigns tribal-chief stuff and the feud with Jey Uso has been really good the last few months. It's about the only thing I regularly watch while fast-forwarding through SDL

I'm cooling on Akudama Drive. First ep is still cool as fuck, but it's slowed down quite a bit

God. 30 degree heat is about when I start shutting down and turn into a zombie. We're lucky in that we mostly only get about two-ish weeks of it per summer (acks more like 3ish now spread throughout the summer because climate change ;_;). We're pretty much in the 10-13 range the entire week (50-60ish F?)
