Twitchy as fuck but not as twitchy as I remember. TBH the way I remember Mario 64 is mostly how this game actually played out. Insane physics, badass trick jumps you can do, was fun as shit fucking around with it. I even loved the Blue coin collectathon because it gave an excuse to fuck around in huge levels. Even the ridiculously hard levels I remember (Pachinko Machine, Sand Bird, Lily Pad run etc etc) weren't as difficult. Good time.

Presumably while waiting to find out if your pre-orders have been cancelled or not Still popping support convos in Fire Emblem: Awakening here and there. Some characters have complete lists, most have at least half done by now, I think most of the mutant children are at least 3/4s done. At least once a day I play a few rounds of Tetris 99 until I score a top 20 finish (usually only takes two or three rounds). I had two #3s the other day and another top 10 today. That game senses weakness and eats you alive. I'll also hit up ACA Neo Geo Puzzle Bobble at least once a day. We had a laser-tag and arcade thing that we used to go to here and there when we were kids, this is one of the arcade games I always hit up, nostalgic as fuck. I was replaying the Capcom Beat'Em Up Bundle earlier in the week before Mario 3D All-Stars pre-orders were confirmed. I still love King of Dragons (shocking how close SNES got), Warriors of Fate is pretty good but maybe a little long. I think Captain Commando and Knights of the Round both have super-cheap boss fights. I haven't replayed Final Fight, Battle Circuit or Armored Warriors yet. But then the 3D All-Stars pre-order estimated arrival date got bumped to Monday (and maybe longer, the California wildfire smoke is disrupting mail delivery) so I got my Mario on with :Snes: Mario All-Stars. Beat Mario 1 and Lost Levels (both without warp zones, beating Lost Levels and getting the Yakuza Kiwami and MGS2 Platinum Trophies are probably my personal top gamer accomplishments), currently in the last world of Mario 2 (I've never beaten this game before). I assume I'll play Mario 3 too but I did beat that one for the first time a few years ago.

So if I'm following God of High School correctly It's like a compilation movie pace but as an anime

That game hasn't aged too great. Too may modern QOL things missing (bumping off of walls instead of sliding down them made me mad as shit, didn't like how exiting a course took you to the beginning of the castle so it incentivized dying to restart a level which was dumb, having game overs feels really obsolete looking back). I never used to notice the camera back in the day because I was used to it and 64 was my first 3D platformer, but really noticed how bad it was this time around, the camera and Mario's herky-jerky movements (especially when trying to move the opposite direction, half the time he'll swing around in a circle and walk you off an edge that he doesn't automatically grab onto like a modern game) killed me way more than the game itself did. I absolutely effing HATE how Mario slides down a maniac on any small incline. All that nerd-ass bitching aside, the game set-up is classic, the characters and enemies are classic and I had a pretty fun run-through once I readjusted.

There's a really, really, really good Boruto anime-canon (aka filler) arc that I'm super digging despite the flaws

(Acks the continue system is extremely forgiving in this game, only sending you back to the beginning of the level on a Game Over and since it's the SNES version you can save your progress legit instead of having to re-do it all every time you shut off the game. I beat the game, and then World 9 (easy as fuck), but the bonus worlds = I'm not gonna count'em, the bullshit is pretty extreme already and I'm only in the first level)

DKC2 comin out on Switch Online on the 23rd Wasn't gonna start anything but the pre-order for Mario 3D All-Stars is probs gonna arrive (if it's not cancelled) next week sometime so I decided to hit up SNES All-Stars. Feels like there's input lag on Mario 1 SNES (never noticed it before because I only got gud at Mario 1 a few years ago), and never noticed but in NES Mario 1 you rebound off the bottom of blocks you break whereas in SNES you drive through them (fucks up the end-jump to the pipe on World 4-2)
