Finished off DKC Tropical Freeze (100% but no Hard Mode), started New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe. Originally I hated this game's control style so much on the Wii U that I didn't even bother 100%ing it. Mario slides a lot more, jumps heavier and with less momentum, and generally it's one of the most sluggish 2D Mario platformers, and I think at that time I was so used to playing Mario 1 (and beating the shit out of it on the regular) and had come off playing NSMB2 recently that it was just really noticeable how worse it. Gonna 100% it this time because I haven't played a 2D Mario in awhile so it's not as big of an annoyance.

(Avoiding responding/looking at MT's posts for now, will respond whenever I get around to seeing BOLA) Speaking of PWG, Cobb vs Jonathan Gresham at Mystery Vortex VI was effing awesome, loved the shit out of that (and was kinda surprised, Cobb sells a bit too much for smaller guys ime and even though Gresham can make it work, he's still is one of the tiniest guys in a major promotion) Think I'ma try out MLW this week. Heard enough Cornette rants and saw some of those guys on Josh Barnett's Bloodsport 2 to think that mebs I should check it out.

Aight, went and stole it and played a bit with both. The OG Switch feels flimsier, the Lite feels compact and solid, like you could drop it and it could absorb the fall. The shoulder buttons feel like they have more padding on them, lighter to press. The screen is smaller but it doesn't seem significantly smaller. My sister mentioned noticing a slight difference and she does play handheld on the OG far more often than I do. It came with an AC Adapter, which was something she was worried about because the box was so small The Yellow looks nice. If you want me to justify you getting one, I can give it a thumbs up.

Regular Switch cramps my hands, Lite actually feels more comfortable to hold, but I didn't play the Lite for any extended time. D-Pad on the lite is noticeably better. Nothing else really stood out to me.

Sister bought one so I got to check it out

Vinland Saga. Violent viking revenge story, badass animation during fight scenes, strong characters who will also self-reflect (similar a bit to how Guts will self-reflect on his life and actions in Berserk). Though, not completely the blow-away anime of the season, there is shit going down in Black Clover (it steals a lot of plot-patterning from Naruto, we're in the Chuunin Exams where the Hidden Sound just launched their sneak attack), Yaiba's second cour has steadily built and expanded to where I'm really interested in seeing where it goes (and some of the best animation I've ever seen, god damn). Also the two episodes of Fruits Basket Season 1 that I liked the most happened during this cour and it was probably more emotional than anything else. Fire Force had the coolest style. So yeah, Vinland is AOTS but not runaway. The surprise of the season for me was Araburu Kisetsu no Otome-domo yo/Maidens of the Savage Season. I never would've caught this if I had just judged it on the description. On the surface, it's about a high school literature club of nerdy girls who are starting to have crushes and sexual thoughts about boys (the first episode is fucking hilarious) but some of the subplots start getting mature and some of them started to get fucked up to the point where it's dipping in and out of adorable coming-of-age hijinx and "some of these people could go to jail if you called the cops right now" territory. It's also a bit of a disappointment because they had a bad anime-only ending for the last two episodes. I may have to hit up the manga to see how this one ends. I was kinda hyped to pick up Mario Maker at some point but I think I'm 2d'ed out again.

100% recommend High Score Girl Season 1. Was not expecting it to feel nostalgic or heartwarming but it managed both

1.179 million viewers. #4 for the 18-49 demo, #19 for overall viewership. About 60% of the Raw/SDL audience but apparently a lot more their younger viewers stuck with it.

NXT had a pretty good TV showing but I don't think it's a good split having the second half of the show on the network every week, but then again I guess you need somewhere for 205 and developmental talent to go. Also AEW apparently bought as much ad time in whatever localized markets they could and had AEW commercials running during NXT.

I'm not familiar with about 6 guys in this year's BOLA.

I recognize Gentleman Jervis (if that's Jervis Cottonbelly) and I remember seeing Arik Cannon in some Chikara back in the day. Indies about to hit some tough times with all these TV start-ups. I think Joey Ryan signed with Impact recently (again) too

I've got the PS2 Classic version waiting on my PS3 to play one day. And the PSP remakes waiting on my PSP to play them too One day...
